Very sexy indeed 8)

What's the spline size needed for the E30? I've been looking at some of these, although not quite as shiny :)

well I'm not getting very far anytime soon but I have been doing the odd couple of bits, I've started to prep the engine bay for paint and cut out all the old brackets and studs that are no longer needed

Image
Image

also picked up my modified drive shafts today they have a new machined flange on the end so they will now fit the bigger output flanges of the large case diff

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

really just have to clean them up give them a lick of paint and bolt them on then the whole rear end is now complete

phewwwwwwwww.

Haha! Nice design work there Ross!! :?

(I just realised I didn't get back to you about making you a servo bracket... Apologies, I've been a bit busy!) I see you also used the VW master cylinder elbows and Sharan master cylinder which also seem to work ok on my car.

the clutch has finally been ordered but not from the original person which has let me down been waiting 5-6 weeks for them to get bk to me about it an stil nothing so ive managaed to contact some one else in the states that do clutch conversions
as i need the friction plate to be modified to go with the supra gearbox im using along with still being a chevy clutch

this is the one ive gone for this is obviously just the pic from the website and is capable of holding (so they say ) 750 ft lb torque we shall see

Image

now this means as soon as i get it the rotating assemble can now go for balanceing and i can get on with building the motor and get it in for the final time things are moving in the right direction albeit alot later than i wanted them too

also I'm going to be doing the clio servo swap hoping this will give enough rooms for the heads and rocker covers but
I'm not to hopefull so I'm thinking I will have to move the servo over somewhat but until I get the heads I'm not going to know
from this

to this

I need to do this mod as i'm doing an M60 swap, is that an actual renault clio servo? what are the benefits of using one of those rather than BMW one?

yeah it's a renault Clio there is no benefits really we only use them as they are a lot smaller in diameter than the e30 one so really it's only about space saving that's about it I'm afraid :)

Thanks for the info Ross, still researching the best way to do my brake setup, i must say yours looks the best so far

Any chance you have the template of the bracket or was it a 'make as you go' invention?!

Would you be interested in making another in exchange for some monies?!

another couple of bits have turned up as my engine block is what they call a crate motor it's an engine that you can buy over the counter, they make them universal
so I had to order a special sump gasket, the engine I have has dipstick holes on the left and the right side so the gasket needs to seal both sides unlike a standard gasket as you can see in the pic
just this one gasket was £36 8O

Image

and also my new alternator has turned up today shiney shiney :)

Impressive, but are they bare alloy, or lacquer-protected to prevent corrosion?
