Gaz, I have a 3.25:1 M3 LSD sitting in my garage. It locked up due to lack of oil but I think the actual LSD bitty is interchangeble between diffs. It doesn't look damaged when I took the rear cover off so I presume its that LSD bit thats buggered.

cheers ian i have pm`d you my email.
Yeh im BMW through and through so yeh it is jap wrongness, but it goes like stink dyno`d at 304 bhp and in a egg carton also 4x4!!
been down the unit tonight didnt really do to much except give the car a good coat of looking at. but i have got a few questions if any one is feeling knowledgeable.
what gear box set up have you guys used i.e cross memeber, selector rod etc.
ive gone with e36 crossmember, e36 shifting arm, e30 selector. and e36 shift lever. it all fits well but the shift lever sits slightly to the right in the
car rather than central just wondered befor i have a tinker?

Hmm.strange actually as mine sits slightly to the right ( 6 speed ) .
It sat more to the right with the e30 gear lever but when i used the original evo one it put it more to centre, but like i said, still slightly to the right.
Do you want a picture ?

i think i may have sussed them out now if any one can just tell me if this sounds right?
the pic of the two wires with the relays, the red one is the live for the fuse box not needed of the e30 one is in place. and the black one an earth?
the two red with the diagnostic plug fat n thin go to the bat + terminal on the bulkhead, and the black is an earth?
sorry to mider but want to get this right for obvious reasons, "whats that smoke!!!!!"

Yup, reverse lead isnt needed as you use the E30 one.gazatron wrote: lambda probes and reverse switch, right?
Both are live - if you peel back the black sleeving you should see the wire is red. I think both connect in the fusebox (Im sure thats what Ive done). I removed the E30 fusebox live and used the E36 one as it looked neater.relays, mass meter plug and red eyelet and black eyelet, where do the eyelets go?

Black should be the earth, cant remember where I fixed it to the body - probably inner wing on drivers side (where the M20 coil was).gazatron wrote: diagnostic plug, one black eyelet and two red ones one fatter than other where do these eyelets go?

2 reds to the battery +ve terminal - smaller one can go to the smaller wire on the +ve terminal which is fused IIRC.

yep, lambda probes. also wanted to mention that they are numbered. #1 and #2 with the plastic yellow rings near connector. lambda probes are also numbered. #1 goes to cyl. 1-2-3 and #2 goes to 4-5-6. dont mix them up, car will not run correctly. cheers, jasongazatron wrote: lambda probes and reverse switch, right?

alrite guys sorry for the lack of posts not been doing too much on the car recently, its pritty much finished except for last few bits mainly waiting for the exhausts to be made on the 15th of may othwise it would be done!!
we have had it running in the car but with no exhaust, manifold back, its far too noisey to do anything with.... ill get some pics up. its getting painted this week so if not before it goes when its nice and shiney when it returns!
has any one uprated their calipers, thinking four or six pots, did you have to change the servo again from the audi one?
and any comments on a nice black to paint the car while its having a full hit?

yeh they are nice blacks but they scratch so easy, i dont think i have seen one without swirl mark scratches in it! the manifolds are on now and bolted up, a lad we know modified our original one, only took him a few hours or so over a couple of nights. but its still very loud and the lamda probes are just dangling there!
changing the subject slightly been offered a diff off a zm roadster (or coupe cant remember which one) cheap enough is it more the ratio that is needed over the 325 lsd thats on now, plus it has the cooling fins which look cool

I've put a ZM roadster diff in ours but we used the ZM trailing arms/brakes and half shalfs/axles. It bolted up to the E30 subframe, prop shaft and rear diff mount no problem. the ratio is 3.2:1 I believe but to fit the m325 half shafts/axles you'll need different drive flanges as the ZM flanges are larger than the end of the E30 shaft. I dont know if the standard 325 flanges will fit into the ZM diff, anyone?

Out of interest, do you get fuel stavtion problems when cornering with less than half a tank? Also what fuel pump and tank are you using?
I ask as i have this problem with my S50B30.

dont really get starvation never run below 1/4 of a tank if it can be helped, got a walbro 255 as low in the tank as possible. When we go past the 550ish bhp with a bigger turbo going to get a swirl pot and a bigger pump maybe a inline one too.
edited with spec i have remembered!
yeh it will shift i hope! i was just curious if there was any other rhd ones as i havent seen one, only lhd`s?
