Nice, but whose 288? Cams from different manufacturers will vary; lift and duration both need watching.

MoT for non-cat cars doesn't seem to include an emissions test anymore :)
I'd be more worried about getting the thing to idle properly without fitting ITBs. Then again, it's a marvellous excuse
MOT's did check the last few cars I have put through an MOT, nothing a little vaccum leak can't sort out though :D

Hmmm, both my car and my friend's Pug needed to pass emissions when they went through the MOT.

Another example of the broad variance in the test!

Strange, that. I had to ask my tester to check my emissions (I had the ticket in my hand at that point, I just wanted to know if the engine was behaving itself). Maybe they just have faith in Bosch EFI?
Besides, it's not that hard to get CO below 3.5% - even carb engines can do it!

I made a worse mistake - forgot to mention timing. Get that wrong and you'll bash pistons with the standard cam

My last MOT, about three weeks ago required a emissions test.

Ended up spending 30mins with the analyser up her while I fiddled and he watched the monitor for pass readings. I thought something had gone wrong when the tester jumped across the ramp and hit the print button!
But he returned to show me the readings were ok, so he hit the button before I tweeked it anymore.

Proper PITA tho and pointless as the min I passed we retuned the idle and just to see we stuffed the probe back in, all I'm saying is my car isn't very green

but pocketing the pistons will drop the CR and negate any gain for the ludicrous camshaft profile.
