M50 conversion - brake servo question

Im sure thats two pipes going to the M/C

We're both right, Steve. 3 ports, 2 pipes. On an ABS car, one of the fronts is blanked with a plug, a single pipe goes to the ABS unit, and the split occurs there. Non ABS cars have sperate pipes to the m/c.

So I can go out and fit my Audi M/C then?

Its just that the end looks fat! The bit that goes into the servo, its like 13mm hole! Im sure my BMW one is like 7mm.

So I can plumb in the two pipes and block the other two, I just need one more blocker?

Now my brake pipes are about three inches to short! What do you guys think I should do??

Im thinking, just buy a roll of brake pipe and make me own!

you can replace very brake pipe on an E30 with non rust "cunnifer" brake pipe for about a fiver.
You'll probably need to change the pipes at the back of the car in any case.

About the larger sized thread for the forward most brake pipes Steve, I had the same thing with my master cylinder, I tried to get a set-screw to blank it off but was told that size does not exist in set-screw form. I think it was 12mm with a 1mm pitch, I ended up pulling the chopped piece of pipe out of the union, filling the hole with weld and screwed that back in.

You can buy the genuine lines from the dealers cheap enough, they have the unions on the ends, but you will need a pipe bender as they come straight.
The cunnifer pipe is rust free, but looks horible IMO.

Ive got one hole blanked already and Im going to go to Bmw to by another blanking plug because my M/C had one in it, so BMW must do it!

Cunnifer pipe, metric ends, a small tube cutter and the tool to make the flares.
Pipe still seems to come as imperial 3/16", but is the correct size.

the picture below is the 25mm audi Master cylinder.As you can see the original pipes are too short so i had to make new ones also.
Also you can see in the pic that mine came with the 2 blanking plugs already in the audi M/S.

They have to remove all the fluids. Looks like they're using some kind of drill combined with a vacuum pump for the job at my scrappy.
Others may use different methods.

My local ones arent doing that yet, i was in not long ago and pulled one off a golf and it was still full of fluid !
So do they have to drain all fluids ?? coolant fuel etc ?

BTW some trawling through Ebay, I understand that the Brake servo from the E30 325iX will do the job and is the solution used in Germany for E30s with M50/S50 engine conversions. From the pics, the iX serco is of a smaller diameter but there seems to be 2 servos piggy backed one behind the other.

So, anyone here tried the iX servo?

Ive seen the ix servo on a few US conversions, more common part over there.
Those adjustable TCA rear mounts would be good for E36 strut swapping!!

The onloy problem I can see with the iX stacked servo is that it may push the master cylinder further out, fouling the large rubber 'sock' (on S50 engines, not sure about M50).

Anyone agree?

Sorted my "short"brake pipe problem today. I removed the two that are short. Got the longest of the two and put it into the other hole, went to the scrappys and got other brake pipe the same as the above and did the same!
