If i dropped it a cog or 2 it would go, but seriously lacking low down shove. It just seemed to be lacking normal pickup and the fuel gauge was just taking the piss.

If you left it in gear, without dropping down a cog, would it rev freely right round into the red?

Sounds like it could be in limp mode, maybe due to exhaust leak?

Do you have a custom exhaust centre near you? They will fix that leak for a drink, being a Scorpion system it could be a crack somewhere and if it is they will weld it up. My last trip to one cost me £10.
The running problem, get it plugged in somewhere and see if it has any faults, could be something daft like a duff sensor.
Hows the Drag slag coming on?

Right, exhaust is now mounted properly & sealed etc, so isn't blowing or scraping on speed humps, so the car is more civil.
Will decide what to do next over the coming days/ weeks.

I saw an ad for it somewhere, can't remember where though
Looks a cool chariot, but not for me though, getting a bit sick of modified stuff for daily use around town.

Speed humps are the thing that are causing me grief, the chromie gets over them no probs, but you are just battering the suspension constantly.
To get to work & back each day I worked out I have to drive over 50 speed humps in total

You need an uber-wagon for speed bumps, I fly over the single bumps at 50mph and the doubles at 20+ easy
