Only slight rubbing when turning, the 245's in 35 profile work out the same diameter as the 215 40's.Its very close to the arch,if the car bounces up and down it clears but like i said , catches a little on cornering.Im going to lift the rear a bit more with a spacer under the spring until i can get the rear arches rolled. On the front i still need to get those offset top mounts but i've noticed that this only catches when on full lock so not so bad.bigpimpin wrote:Looks great !any rubbin at the rear?

failed the MoT
pissed off.Failed on :
flexy hose twisted
anti vibration springs on front calipers catching inner edge of wheel.
headlights LHD beam pattern (even though i thought id set them to RHD,stoopid angel eyes).
rear tyres catching bodywork (no shit ! ) Need some standard springs.
centre seatbelt missing ! (was tucked under the seat!)

Yeah,nowt major.
Thanks very much Dameon, your a life saver ! BMW wanted £170 for a pair of standard 325 sport springs !
Laugh,i nearly did
Short term fix until i can get the arches either rolled or wheel machined on hub face.Or even just an arch trim

Hi Buster,
Just noticed your last comment on the ABS unit, I've done this conversion too ( with Ian's expert input ) and I've moved the ABS unit in order to fit a cf cai. I moved it to immediately underneath it's origional position so it's now hanging from some home made brackets. You can dismantle the wiring loom plug and feed it through the holes already there in that area and then reassemble the plug. It's long enough to reach. Of course you then have to reroute the brake lines. If that gives you space to get that air box in then it's worth a try.
Good job you've done, I know how much time and effort you have had to put in. You will definately not regret it, especially after you get those back wheels spinning. Best of luck geting it fired up and running.
Cheers
henry

Hi Henry,
I have thought about the relocation of the abs pump. After some advice i have found out that you can modify the maf sensor to fit inside the carbon plenum chamber, then i just need room for the filter which could i suppose be routed to where your abs pump now lives.
There's a few bits of my conversion which i wish i had done differently, but its done now maybe on the next one
.
Seen your car in bmw mag a while ago, well done on your conversion.I'd love to get all these s50 powered e30s together.
cheers,
andy

Car now has MoT !
Didnt have to fit the taller springs afterall (thanks Dameon).
I got away with rolling the arch lip back to clear the tyres.
Love the way its sat now with the fat rubber at the back, with the tyres just missing the arches.
cheers,
andy

I'd like to see some low angle shots, 3/4 front and rear
And have fun!
And have fun!
I would like to see some nice agressive opposite lock shots with the rear tyres smoking like my boss on the last day before the smoking ban at work
But with the probable price of the things i would understand if you declined....... would look very cool though
