I don't know if my M42 is getting weaker or I just want more than it can give, but I'm thinking about pulling the 4-banger out and getting an M52B28 in there...
I'm not averse to a bit of spannering, but I'm considering paying someone to do the conversion and give it back to me ready to go. I've had a read through some of Steve's e3024v site and some of it seems a bit scary.
What would be a reasonable cost for a 3rd party to supply and fit the M52B28, gearbox, overbore throttle body, M50 inlet tract, manifold/downpipe, wiring loom and EWS, ECU, propshaft and anything else I've forgotten... I'd like to re-use my Blue Flame exhaust, but this would need modifying at the hot end.
Also, who would people recommend for such work?
Cheers in advance,
Omi
M42B18 out, M52B28 in...

Nah, that's Scott in the Supra, one of my best mates... You go to Teesside Autodrome then? Or FRD?
Between Pete, Buster and myself it might be worth attempting this at home.
Just need to cost up a conversion now and get it planned for spring when the weather starts to improve.

hope you feel rich omi?
i had a look at you motor when we were at croft for the PBMW not so long ago. nice paint job. and i have seen your mates supra when i was round Gall's (he lives in darlington and has just welded his m30 diff
) he nearly broke his neck to see my e30 and then we both gave the nod of appreciation
when you dump the 6 pot in you will notice a massive difference with both the handlign and teh power
good roads round your way........i think i need to move back it takes too long to get out onto any good roads.

Think I could claim it as a business expense for Scumball?
Difference with the handling is that it'll be worse, unfortunately. iS handles beautifully... 100+ kilos of engine up front won't help on that front. Relocating the battery may help a bit.
