my old 325i e30 thats been in the barn for 4 years got it out about a fortnight ago and put it in my workshop on the ramp. started straight up aswell :D

ive flipped manifold upside down and machined out bolt holes and port holes so ports line up perfectly and made adapter to run t3/t4 turbo with rs turbo wastegate housing and exhaust. modifying rs 500 intercooler. made adapter for afm to intercooler pipe. ive got 22lb 3.5 injectors on the way and im gonna run a 10:1 fmu with 8 psi of boost at 80 psi fuel pressure. by my calculations fueling should be pretty good across the board. modded front end and moved rad toward 3 inches to accomodate intercooler. ive got fittings and pipe for oil feed and ive made the oil return fitting for the sump out of a drilled out 7/8 cat d8 track bolt :D actuator is temp mounted gotta make proper brackets now and drill sump for oil return fitting. and thats as far as ive got so far winkeye

dude is that the turbos final position ?

if so, not great , it needs to be horizontal, with it fitted as you have it the oil seals will have a very hard time , and the oil flow will be wrong, could lead to a very premature failure. Just a heads up :thumb:

Nice big IC though, and using the afm as a blow through setup means the intake temp will be correct .

Ant said it.
But you should be able to rotate the turbine housing over the oiled section for correct oiling.

AFM is not a blow through design, as it will leak into the circuit bodys space.
With great challenges comes great engineering.

only a small farmer we only got 300 acres. main business is plant contracting caterpillar d6s and d8s and scrapers. 50 mm bolts and inch torque wrenches winkeye

well tonight i tried to drill a hole in the sump and tap a thread for oil return but i cant get high enough so sumps gotta come off and have a pipe welded to it right at the top as high as it will go  :-x

Eeee, not sure how well the elbow into the turbo is going to flow. Looks like the exhaust gas is being forced to make a very sharp turn with a big drop in flow area too :(

Might be an idea to brace the turbo as it's got quite alot of leverage on the studs and piping out there.

Be interesting to see how you get on :D
