Howdy y'all.
I own two BMWs, one mint 318ic 86k miles:
Upgrades: SS exhaust, koni adjustable, all maintenance done, and factory a/c Install :-D everything runs perfect on her..

and a less then mint 324td wagon 106k miles:

I basically daily drive the cabrio as i live in southern france, but i could also dd the wagon. What i really want to do is have some fun modding one of the two.

Should I turbo the 318ic, knowing that i'd have to pull the turbo off to pass CT (belgian MOT) ... because it's in great shape and all it needs is more power... but she's mint, so it might be a shame to hack her up with a turbo.

or

Should I intercool the wagon, up both the diesel + the turbo pressure and drop in a 3.64 VO diff that i have laying around. The plus side of this is that if I end up wadding the car into a wall or destroying it somehow, i sincerely won't care.
Down side: it needs brakes, shocks, springs, wheels, etc.

Thanks for the help.
Julien.

If they were my steeds, and seeing as you are asking for opinions, I say play with the wagon - could be a nice machine and pretty unusual (well it would be in the UK and on the zone anyway!).

Good luck with it!

taarbbaaaawwww diesels can be pretty naughty if done correctly, shorter rev range obviously but can boost with the best of them.
