in fact on second thought id lay the groundwork for bigger things and get an engine conversion that will give you decent power out of the box and is relatively easy and cheap to upgrade in the future. then turbo it.

 Alright then, a BIIIIG turbo :D

Not many people seem to be following the SC route, and those that do don't appear to get much in reward for their efforts :( Be interested to see what the latest crop of SC conversions comes out with though :)

Why is it very few people go for the supercharger? I love the sound a supercharger, the sound of the charger on my dads aston is orgasmic!!

Isnt it called a compound charger?

They did that on Spitfires with the Merlin engine.

Seemed to work OK for the RAF :)

edit: Oh, no they didn't. Two stage/two speed supercharger. Ah well.

It's called different things, but we all know what we mean - an overdriven supercharger which switches over to an oversized turbo at medium revs. The supercharger can be overdriven because you're only taking it up to 3500rpm crank speed or so and the turbo can be oversized because it always has sufficient gas flow to spin it up as it only comes into action above 3500rpm. Hey presto, everyone's a winner, especially the owner of your local petrol station.
