Ok so here are few pics taken today. We started preparing the chassis for painting. We did also the wheelarces bit wider to cope with the 8.5/10x17 inch wheels and incoming H&R Cup Kit.

Beginning.

Yep. Could be a pain in the arse to fit the downpipe and the steering shaft at the same side of the engine. :)

Thanks mate! :)

Few more pics. Took these in the spring of 2005. I was bit busy at the time so the project went on pretty slow then...

Here´s the car when i started taking out the m20
Image

The interior before taking it apart. Note that the car used to have automatic gearbox.
Image

The clutch i´m gonna use with the new manual gearbox.
Image

Also made these "Alpina" gauges just for fun...
Image

Might also do the boost, oil pressure, etc. gauges with the same look.

Somewhere between 300 and 400 horses. Don´t wanna raise the boost over 1 Bar (quess that´s around 14 psi or something..?) in the beginning.. I´ve been thinking about getting bigger brakes, but i wanna keep the 4x100 bolt pattern. Any hot tips for the brakes?? :)

Thats one hell of a project nice to see it!! m50 turbo mmmmmmmmm i like.... them wheels set it off big time , i love that loook so much im going to buy a set of B1s soon for a spare set of wheels on my hartge.
good luck to you and i would say your looking at well over 300bhp!! nps
also as far as brakes go keeping the original bolt pattern theres a company over here called WILLWOOD! they make a nice 4 pot kit for the e30 and if u look into it hard enuff i belive you can get baby 2 pot calipers for the rears ive currently just put a full set of willwoods on my h35 hartge ive not used them yet lol but i do know theyre meant to be very good indeed!! http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/pr ... ts_id=3912
they actually do the full kit for e30!! winkeye
good luck as i said if you need any help or info on anywhere in the uk you can shout me anytime thanks ian. winkeye

Joo laitoin huviksi tännekki vähä matskua... :)

Allready got those Zimmermann "sport" discs. I dont think theyԚ´re very different from standard ones so just gonna try and see if can they handle the ride.. :D

Not much progress in the project (sorry..) due to my work in Sweden (I live in Finland..) but itԚ´s all about to change in few weeks.

The car should be painted by now and next weekend those ARP bolts and fat-ass gasget gonna go in to the m50. So stay tuned for pics of engine and shiny m-tech diamantschwarz with a layer of dark ******... winkeye Nothing radical. Just a littlebit of something to give some edge to the colour. :)

IԚ´m using m50b25 crank and new standard m52b28 pistons and rods. Comp ratio should be bit over 8 with that rod-piston-gasget combination.

So now itԚ´s been painted. Gonna get some better pics tomorrow with my Canon EOS 300D. Hope thereԚ´s sun because it brings out the best of it. It has a new layer of diamondblack and top of that is a layer of dark pearl violett.

Well..not exactly.. In cloudy weather, like in that picture, it looks normal 181 diamondblack. But in bright light the pearly violet "jumps out" slightly. But when the violet comes out, it does look littlebit like techno violet. :) So nothing radical, just a little something to stand out from the usual diamondblack mass... :)

Me and my mate gonna weld it together. As soon as i have the time to put the top end of the M50 together, weԚ´ll drop it in and start making the manifold. ItԚ´s gonna be a 3/3 pulse manifold, as my GT40 has a divided exhaust casing.

There.
