get some 12.9 grade non stretch head bolts dude, best upgrade on offer to solve the H/G issue.
TBH mines run 15+ psi without issue on the stock H/G, what boost were you running ?
to drop the C/R use the thicker H/G from the stealers or push the boat out on an MLS gasket from the US.

Btw, lets have the spec then

ARP don't make head studs for M20's however Raceware make head studs and main studs, they quoted me $250 and 210USD + shipping.
If you use a high quality head gasket (Felpro or similar) and head studs or even 12.9 grade bolts it should be good to 15-20psi boost with good tuning.
The problem I see with using MLS is the sealing between block and head onto the gasket if you don't O-ring, you can get leaking issues. Also by using a MLS, something else in the engine will become the next "weak point" so to speak, so instead of blowing a HG, you might cook a piston.

you can get ARP studs for M20's they are available at www.pure-pf.com send andreas a email and he will help you, he speaks english. also you cant o-ring and use a MLS gasket the o-ring wont bite into the steel, MLS will not leak if installed correctly with good surfaces, can spray it with gasket spray and it defiabtly wont then - WillG
Yes but have you seen how much?? They're VAT is rediculous!SamG wrote:you can get ARP studs for M20's they are available at www.pure-pf.com send andreas a email and he will help you, he speaks english. also you cant o-ring and use a MLS gasket the o-ring wont bite into the steel, MLS will not leak if installed correctly with good surfaces, can spray it with gasket spray and it defiabtly wont then - WillG
I have a friend who has spent over £9k with PPF and even he couldn't get the studs cheap, I have the quote at home if anyone wants to see it.
Mark.
Ive never had anything added to prices on the webshop, they are expensive on there tho, atleast shipping etc is alot cheaper then it will be on the raceware studs, im using 12.9 bolts myself with o-rings done by QEP who have done loads of them
Yeah well they are ARP and they fit in a m20 perfectly, doesnt matter what ARP say
