Right guys I'm in a dilemma, my heads just gone, I've now got another daily and am now toying with the idea of swapping rather than repairing as was looking for a bit more power but before i do.... 1. it has 240'000 Miles on it, is it worth repairing and Turbo-ing and would the standard internals take it?

2. engine swap for something completely different i have a budget of upto £1200 was contemplating 3.5 from 535i, V8 (unsure which one)or SR20Det as i am new to German as a previous 200sx owner and also not a purist  basically I want the best engine swap available for my budget and don't mind buying a complete car to swap from to.

Cheers Mike

£1200 is a bit lean for an engine swap, unless you're experienced and plan to do all the work yourself.

If by "my heads just gone" you mean a head gasket failure, a DIY fix can be fairly easy and cheap.
If the head is straight enough, a skim will cost you £50-100, new gaskets and head bolts £60. If the head is cracked, someone on here will sell you a replacement for £100-200. Either way, you'll be rolling again for under £300, plus some work.
The other £900 would go a long way toward turbocharging your M20B25 winkeye
