Nice work. 8) Quite surprising that brand new alloy heads should need such work though. :?

Not really, there is always performance to be had from a head.

Can't get over how big your valves are!

well tbh I could have put them straight on but the casting Was pretty rough in some places so I thought I might as well work them
with these big v8s the more air you get in the more power you get out, yeah it's abit of work but I think it's worth the effort

and ross I know what your saying my exhaust valves are bigger than most peoples inlet valves lol
the inlets in these are 2.02" and there the small ones you can get you can put 2.30" in these :)

Looking good. What did you spray the engine bay with? Like the alloy clutch reservoir. 8)

What do you think of the eagle rods Ross?

Looking into them for my m50 as they are bloody cheap but seen a few posts (admittedly from 3 or 4 years ago) saying quality control isn't great. and to check each one for clearance. Were yours ok?

well not done much but have been messing about with the gearbox adding the uprated parts to
it, the bits I've done have seen this gearbox take upwards of 5-600 bhp I have seen in the states this box taking over 800bhp

the uprated parts I've put in are a chrome moly first gear thrust washer which takes most of the load from the whole gearbox
and billet steel rear bearing retaining cover the original is just pressed which flexes under power which In turn ruins the bearing and the original thrust washer

so here's just a few pics if what I've done
not everything tho

front and rear casing off

Image
Image

started taking 5th gear and synchros of to get the thrust washer
this is the old and new thrust washer (new one is on the left)

Image

and with it fitted

Image

this is what can happen to the original ones

Image

I replaced the rear main output shaft bearing as it had to be destroyed to reach the 1st gear thrust washer

Image
Image

new and old retainers

Image
Image

and then the new bearing retainer on top

Image
Image

and with it all bk together

Image

this happened

Image
Image

just great so now I've gotta wait for some more bolts to turn up

soooooooo in the mean time I done some painting

Image
Image

that's about it for now till I get these bolts
when I do and it's bk together it's finally going all in the car for the last time I hope :)

so much shiny!! look good though, contrasts well with the black

saw you made your own steering rack hoses did you use the torques fittings for the rack banjos ? if so what size are they and is the quality good (torques in general )

yeah i get you, i just need to fit a z3 rack so might fit a new set of lines, i did cut and weld the e30 ones but think your setup might be a better option

more questions - what is the blue gunk you've used? is it just the blue loctite or a special sealer - i bought some loctite 542 after a bit of research i hope it works!
