Hi.My name is Sotiris and i am from greece.I have a bmw e30 m40 '88 316.I am thinking to change engine. But i cant decide.Which one is better?Which is cheaper? Is it worth to bring a full car from german to greece or should i check to find here?
Very difficult question if its worth or not. Every country has its own rules/taxes. Cars from germany can be good because they usually aren't rusty, but i suppose its not the problem in greece.DRIFTER wrote:Hi.My name is Sotiris and i am from greece.I have a bmw e30 m40 '88 316.I am thinking to change engine. But i cant decide.Which one is better?Which is cheaper? Is it worth to bring a full car from german to greece or should i check to find here?
Which engine to chose depends on what you want from your car. With m42 there should be a bit better handling, engine is more revvy, on the other hand m20b25 (2,5 litre, 2,0 litre isn't even worth the mess) is more torquee and has more power, but it is less economical. So i think you have to find and read more info about these engines and it's your choice, noone can make a choice instead of you.
Anyway good luck, m8
Hello mate, i would also recommend the M20B25, but only because i like 6 cylinder motors. Where abouts in greece are you from?, my parents have a house near Kalamata, thinking of driving my 325i down there next year - bit of a long way though!
