I.ve got a 318 tourer with a knackered head ,but i've got a good 320 engine/box etc spare , how differcult to replace bad for good , all the wiring harness is there on the engine but what about the loom in the car.

Loom in the car will mate straight up. Problems that you will have are the front springs (heavier engine), wrong mounts for the air filter/afm and no bracket for the rad header tank.

Cheers Brian, i'll have the shocks etc as well , i could tack weld the brackets for the rad/afm if need be as their available as well. Change the diff /prop as well ?

320 and 318 are both small case diff, and ratios are similar, so prop and diff should be OK. If you were fitting a 325 engine it would be a different matter.

The radiator bracket is just a clip on job at the bottom, couple of quid new if you can't find one.
There is NO nucleus.

if your going to any effort at all then id suggest the 2.5 as the 2.0 is gutless

but if he has a a 2.0engine and box sitting around, then it makes more sense than a 2.5
