Moderator: martauto
hi guys, ive been on the zone for a while now but not posted before.firstly many thanks for the help ive recived from the likes of jhonno/ian haynes and the rest of you for helping me complete my mk1 sport s50 3.0ltr conversion,it was a mean drive and well worth doing.sadly it suffered bottom end failure before i had a chance to do the shells and arp rod bolts.anyway i have a replacement complete s54 with ancilaries loom and ecu(i must be crazy)but hey i know its possible and would apreciate any help available to get it running. i know i can use the s50 oil pump and sump from my blown conversion all be it new oil pump, and the rad or a e28 m5 rad along with my 5speed box e36 arms and m5 mounts, ive read about the sc components exchange wiring loom and ecu with a cable throttle, but don,t know how i will get the instruments to work/what fuel pump and many other things.i have a clio servo on my sport at the moment and will have to move it as far as poss this is not a prob but what else do i need to know?all help masively apreciated.

A member Glenn did the S54 swap and managed to use S50 loom I believe and got arounf the flyby wire throttle.
Worth searching out his posts or a PM to him. Ian H is also a legend at this type of stuff.

the bulk of the swap is the same as the s50 conversion, as you've already done.
if i was doing the swap again, i'd either go the specialised components route, or get someone to reprogram the ecu, not look for the abs/dsc signals it looks for.
you could use either e36 or e46 6 speed boxes, but you'd need to use the friction plate for the desired box as the input splines are different for each box.
fuel pump would be 'as per' s50b32 conversion, 5 bar pressure required.
cheers
