Not a massive amount done, got the fuel tank in & fitted, lots of messing about with knackered hoses & jubilee clips and trying to work out how the hell all the pipes connect to what etc. New lines fitted front to rear, replacing just the single feed line that was in there.
Was going to get the rear beam fitted up but it's not upto CR24V standards so I'll be attacking it with the wire brush angle grinder & hammerite again, same for the rear arms and the diff.
Fitted braided flexis up.
Everett came over and to be honest did most of the work

Have you thought of getting the rear end powder coated? Touring Whore on here (Guy) does good work for decent rates, he's not a million miles away either.
I painted my rear beam ect with hammerite and I'm not impressed with how it's lasting under there.

Powdercoating would be nice, but I can't be hassled with the delays and as long as it is tidier than it looks at present I'll be happy with that.
Dezzy, managed to separate the prop and got a new centre bearing & carrier on so should be golden mate, thanks for the offer though. Got a steering UJ sorted today so will post it off to Dan

Nice to see progress lee no matter how small, Did a few alterations to the M3 shell yesterday and whilst it seemed like i got nothing done its ticked a few boxes so im a little further on.
Can you be a CR24v member if your car doesnt have chrome? Mine is early enough to qualify but BMW werent stupid enough to fit chrome to M3`s

That tank was a bastard to fit, and the prop bearing was 'interesting' as well. Thank f*ck for the Deck&Blacker Workshy!

Been out in the garage tonight and separated the rear arms from the diff etc.
Mr angle grinder & wire brush attachment came out and cleaned them up and a few coats of hammerite have smartened them up to a semi-acceptable level (I'll have to put this one on it's lid before anyone is going to see them)
Tomorrow or wednesday night It'll be time to fit the rear end up and get it nearer to sitting on 4 wheels again.
Couldn't be arsed with pics.

What's the deal going to be with the fuel gauge now that I have the 63ltr tank with the twin level sensors?
Presumably the gauge in the cluster won't read correct?
If so, is it a major ball ache to change over the gauge from the cluster I had in the touring? Is it more than just the gauge - I am NOT going to attempt messing with a soldering iron on the cluster circuit boards but I would rather not have to swap in another cluster and lose the low 74k reading on the chromie clocks

Open the cluster, dials pull off the board.
I swapped in to my touring the Euro spec fuel gauge that shows fuel level in litres in a few minutes.

PM sent mate, many many thanks.
What a tit I am
Just been out and fitted up the rear beam and diff and got one complete trailing arm bolted up on the driver side before running out of light. Start putting my tools away and then spot the large washers that fit on top of the subframe bushes in my tool box

reckon i'll be spawny enough to get one side dropped down at a time and slot the washer over the top of the bush?
By the way, donation made to the Zone on behalf of Town for the free manifold nuts he is sending me

Well some graft put in tonight, was joined by local zoner Scott180gtb and we got the back end put together, I was spawny and managed to drop one side of the rear subframe at a time and slip the missing washer on
Anyway, she rolls on her wheels now. Loads to do still like rear brake pipes, renew handbrake cables, fit prop, gearbox mount, check all bolts are tight etc, but a landmark moment of her sitting 55mm lower to the ground.

Got the 15" cup alloys on the front, but they are going up for sale, just been powdercoated. The 16" mims on the back are what she'll be rolling on, I think they look the shizzle.

Reckon i've got a good 80mm+ sump clearance, although she'll probably settle a bit more yet

This is the money shot for me, reckon those mims and the ride height look blob on

Started getting the interior out, nearly done, but from what I've seen of the floor it is absolutely minty mint

how the hell are you going to eek another 30 pages out of this thread working at this new pace? Nice to see it coming together Lee.
You popping up to Dezzys on sunday to laugh at me and him putting wrinkles in a headliner?

Look's good my brother.
The cup don't look too bad to me, the mim ftw though.
I think that you have the right height spot on there!
@ Mat maybe you could squeak into -CR-24- as it's small rear lights for M3's. Not sure your workmanship will be up to scratch though

Yeah I'm really happy with the ride height. It will settle a bit more like you say, that is literally dropped off the axle stands and pushed forwards 10 feet.
Couldn't be arsed doing anything tonight, but did find myself stood in the garden admiring the new look
Front end is stiff as hell. Rear end not as much. Will the ARB make much difference when you push down on just one side as there is no rear ARB fitted at the mo. The rear koni shocks are adjustable, but I have no idea what setting they are on.

I'm back in lazy mode again, must be the heat, was sweating like Fred West in B&Q tonight.
Finished getting the carpet out and it's good news underneath. The pov spec carpets are sooo much lighter than the deeper pile ones.

Original carpet now ready for collection

Tossed the black one in that I had in the touring

Need to give the seats a good scrub

Are the mechanisms for moving the seats back and forward on the runners the same on the comfort seats as the sport seats?
