Yes i have bought a set from that ebay seller, they look good but i am yet to use them, i had a local engine shop look over them and as he makes his own forged conrods probly knows what hes looking at, he said they were good quality and very good value for money.
there rods are made by pure perfromance motorsport in OZ
heres the link, the rods come etched with there logo on them.

dont need that sir, I will remain OEM, got 130mm B20 rods already now, and as I said I dont want a race engine.
My goal is 200HP with the motronic, maybe slightly more with MS later.
Cheers Pierre

you far more likey to hit 200bhp with this setup and you'll get more torque, your alpina isn't a race engine either!pegase747 wrote:Got that in my B3 2.7 already but thanks for advise lol !reggid wrote:better off with an OEM 135mm rod and custom pistons

I know it is not a race engine, and neither it is a race car.
I consider my B3 2.7 the most versatile sport/tourism car built. It is as reliable as any 325i, much faster and livelier, handling is top, being stiff but confortable.
the thing is with my B3, I wont allow myself to do any modifications, she has to remain fully original, and I love it this way, for the history, and the way Alpina Buchloe built it, actually the finishing is much higher than the BMW finish.
The B3,unless the C2 ( I am not talking about the Sytner C2 E30 ph2 as i have no idea ), were delivered as shells without angine in Buchloe, and Buchloe was mounting the engine, interior and so on. the C2 were delivered to Alpina as 325i, then dismantled and rebuilt in Buchloe.
Now back on topics, I want to built a 2.8 M20 that i can devellop over time, without the fear of losing my car authenticity, being a "run of the mill" 325i Touring.
The engine that I will remove from the car will likely be rebuilt stock as a spare in case i want to rebuilt the B3 engine and keep driving it or have some trouble with the 2.8.
in the end I will have a pool of 3 engine for my 2 cars, the Alpina C2/2, the M20B25 stock, and the M20B28 modified to my liking.
Does that make sense ?
Cheers Pierre
