Tue Dec 15, 2009 1:52 am

hi. a while ago i bought a mint 316. on the way home sprung a minor oil leak. from full to empty took about 3 minutes haha. anyway. i have sourced a rear end cat c 325i e36. would love to combine the 2 cars. a written off e36 1.6 8v is my dream car lol

anyway. could anyone help and list what parts i will need that i cant find already in one of the cars i already have. thanks in advance

p.s. explain as if im thick as sh!t as some people are vague and im not good with some parts that have nicknames :D

ok, you have several thousand options so there are a few things to bare in mind:

a 316 will not have / you will need to change to

51mm front suspension struts
correct springs/dampers
rear disc brakes
suitable fuel pump
cluster coding plug

prop shaft
major exhaust manifold modification (m52 tubular mani)
diff ratio/rating
smaller brake master cylinder

among 100 other things you may need to do you will have the amusing opportunity to recycle your 316 gearbox :D

there are endless sources to help you along every step of the way - the engine swaps /FI section is where you need to click
