yes it has run in an e36 m3 ,so what has been put in the e30 is a running package from that car ,bar the fuel pump . the wireing side of things has been taken from the m50 sticky thread ,i take it that this is the same ? thanks garyUweM3 wrote:ok I am trying again.

1996 will be a 3.2 evo, so it needs a 5 bar fuel pump, not the 3 bar pump in the E30. It might start with the E30 pump, but its not going to do it any favours.
The M50 wiring is not the same as the S50 wiring. Unless you have followed the S50 wiring info, that would be the first port of call for the problem.

In which case the E30 fuel pump will be fine.bigbhpwannabe wrote: ok i am a dip shit the car is a 1995 ,is deff a 3l s50
A 1995 3.0l will have EWS, so there could be an issue there, but we still need more details.

just to update me, why does the 3.2 don't run with the E30 fuel pump?jmc330i wrote:In which case the E30 fuel pump will be fine.bigbhpwannabe wrote: ok i am a dip shit the car is a 1995 ,is deff a 3l s50

The pump doesn't matter for the pressure, that's down to the FPR. I know plenty of E30 M3's running the pump with 5 bar.
Maybe the AMOUNT of fuel the E30 pump suplies isn't enough but the pressure shouldn't be a problem.
Ignition barrel is of no use, you do however need the antenna ring that goes round the barrel where you put the key in - this can be from any EWS equipped E36.bigbhpwannabe wrote: hi thanks for the reply ,no it has not run in the e30 before ,it does have ews ,we do have these parts from the e36 m3

The ignition key and ECU must be from the same car (which you have), but you also need the EWS control module from the same car - the igniton key, ECU and EWS module are all matched together.
TBH mate, I dont know. I do know that my S50B30 runs fine with the fuel pump and FPR from my E30, because they are both 3 bar systems.UweM3 wrote: just to update me, why does the 3.2 don't run with the E30 fuel pump?

The S50B32 runs a 5 bar system, and everyone I know (including those on here) who runs a B32 has got an uprated pump (or the M3 Evo pump) to cope with 5 bar. I understand what you are saying, but if it was just a case of changing the FPR and keeping the E30 pump, everyone would of done that.

I believe pressure is just a function of flow against a restriction. If the engine consumes (injects) fuel at a rate higher than the pump can supply, the pressure will drop.
I know someone who ran an S50B32 on a standard pump (in an E36 Compact), and found that it leaned out at the top end because the pump could not supply enough fuel. A standard pump will be fine for general driving around, but when you regularly visit the upper rev/load range, it can't handle it. He had no problems after fitting an uprated pump.

If it is an S50B32 there is no short answer I'm afraid, though I believe there is a german company that can disable it. An S50B30 can have the ECu from an earlier car put in there to get around the EWS I believe..
