Hello folks,

Could some one please point me in the right direction to finding the weights of some of the BMW engines?

I'm after the fully dressed weights of the M50B25 2.5ltr 24 valve straight six and the M60B40 4.0ltr V8.

Or alternatively the bare engine weights of both, so long as I can compare.

Cheers.

The ETK lists short engines at -
132kg for non Vanos M50B25
137kg for M50B25 with Vanos
142kg for the M60B40.

Thanks for that.

Looking at those two lists then there appears to be a weight difference of 10kg to 12kg betwen the two engines. I might have to hold off drilling too many lightening holes in the back of the Bratwurst in case it does end up with that V8 up front! winkeye
