318 to 318is(e36 donor)

hi, i tried looking for it in the searches but im not much use with that.

i have a g reg 318( genuinly mint:D) and i have a 318is engine from a j reg e36, i know i need to change the sump and probably engine mounts, i was ust wondering weather the 318 sump would fit the 318is also same with the engine mounts would the 318 mounts fit the 318is engine?

Sump can be swapped but I'm not sure about the mounts? I imagine they should though seeing as the blocks are practically the same.

you will need to change the sump , dip stick , engine mounts , e30 iS inlet and exhaust manifolds and possably the loom .

ok thanks for the help, i glad that the sump will fit, that was my main concern, i didnt feel like pay for another 1 as i paid top price for the engine:( £80!!!! it only had 60k miles on it though

You've prob done it by now lol but the inlet manifold needs to be changed as does the sump, loom should fit fine iirc mine did, engine mounts will need swapping and thats it
