Just so i am sure in my mind can you please , tell me again what you are doing but in english loolman i have now stared at this engine and gearbox for a week now is this job impossible or is it a straight fit....... what probs am i looking at??????
i am dicthing my tiddly little beemer 316i engine, and am going to replace it with a 325i engine cam kit, turbo and all the rest of that sort off nice stuff. i have an awesome shell in great condition and the donner car for parts just want to know what to keep before i send it to the scrappys. this is my first real project bit nerous

If you can, keep hold of it until you've finished the conversion. you'll need a lot more off the 325 than you think.BRGreen wrote:i have the car and the engine so what should i strip off it before i ditch it??

For a start, that's the diagnostic socket,not the C101!
I'll come back to this thread when you lot have finished smoking whatever it is you're smoking.

1) I think in certain cases it might be best to either find a tutorial there are loads on the web, so you can go though at your own pace.
or
2) Sell your little beemer and buy a 325i, the market is flooded at the moment with the fuel thing going on, even buying a 320i would save 50% of the work.
or
3) Get a local garage to do it, this isnt cheap but in the long run it might actually save you money.

In my opinion it's not really worth swapping the engines around, the 325i has more over the 316i than just a bigger engine. Sell/scrap both and buy a complete 325.
Not in E30s any more
