Why bother. If you want a low revving high torque engine fit an eta engine instead it will be simpler cheaper and will give you plently of low down torque. It develops 85% of peak torque at 1650 rpm by 2000rpm 90% of peak torque is available. Torque peaks at 177 ft/lb at 3250 rpm. Rev limit is the same as the diesel but its "top" end is likely to be more
lively. I have a eta E28 and acceleration feels constant throughout its rev range which is unlike a TD which will surge when the turbo kicks in and looses it above 3500 rpm. With your 325i diff you will 0-60 of about 8secs as well (if yours a manual). The eta is also very quiet.

If running costs are the problem with a 325, then convert it to run on LPG. That's what I did around eight years ago, and have recouped the conversion costs several times over since!

Sorry to barge in but that sounds like a good idea. What would the conversion cost approx and who would be able to carry out this conversion?Brianmoooore wrote:If running costs are the problem with a 325, then convert it to run on LPG. From about £300 upwards, if you get lucky on ebay, and for your second question: You can.isTURBO wrote: What would the conversion cost approx and who would be able to carry out this conversion?
