New bloke with 325i Cab...

Hi,

I'm new here and thought I'd post up a couple of pics of my 55,000 mile 325i manual with black leather and electric roof.

Had it about 3 months and not really done anything to it other than clean it and get an inspection 2 service done with all fluids replaced.

Future plans are to keep it as clean as I can, and maybe get a stainless exhaust for it. Any recommendations are more than welcome!

Thanks, it is unbelievably clean and its paint is all original from what I can see. And your right about not changing anything, I think it looks great as it is.

I agree, I would change the rims,to make the car look more unique. Sweet car though, keep it white, you dont see many white e30s on here and when you do they like niiice

Nothing wrong with some genuine alpinas, hartges or bbs splits but even as it is, is perfect. Looks like a fantastic example and welcome to the zone by the way.

Steve, Vern nice, if it was mine I'd leave exactly as is. I have something similar in black, parked for the winter, but looking forward to cleaning it from top to bottom for next summer.. It's killing me to have it parked up...

Rest assured it will be staying exactly as Mr BMW intended, white, chrome-less, with original body, interior and wheels (even thought they're a nightmare to clean!). I have to say that I did toy with the idea of some Hartge rims but have decided its fine as it is and I think these are getting rarer with they're original wheels. I will look at getting a stainless exhaust for it though because decent mild steel ones seem to be nearly the same cost and the one I have on it is a very poor fit.

One thing I do need is a new electric arial. Anyone have any suggestions where I can get an aftermarket on that fits properly?

B7, liking your 325i, cant believe how similar it is to mine. I take it the transition to colour coded bumpers was between '89-'90?

Mac3, not suprised your keeping it off the road for winter, I was in Ireland last weekend and the roads to apear to be A.) very potholed, and B.) very muddy! I did see a black one though with alpina rims at a Dublin out of town shopping centre. Anyone here?

Hi Steve, well mine is a low miler like yours and I have an E36 for the week day commute so it makes sense to have it parked. You probably had the worst weather possible for a visit to Dublin. True for you, pot holed roads, mud everywhere, its a joy to visit the UK and drive on silky smooth roads. You guys dont know how lucky ye are..

The only consolation is that the petrol is a little cheaper. I had my cab in the E30 center in Birmingham during the summer to get the leccy roof sorted and all the lads there were looking at the tax disc. They were wondering what the ┚¬800+ was for and I explained that that was the annual fee for the privilege of driving on the lovely roads of Ireland. They could not believe it..

Mac, I was looking at the possability of moving to Eire. Is that what its going to cost me for road tax if I import the cab?

Steve CRX, just saw your post about the road tax, The green movement here are increasing it by about 10% so it'd be up around the ┚¬900 for 12 months for a 325i. I only tax mine for 6 months, ie the summer months, about ┚¬500. That figure is for cars already on Irish plates.

The thing is from July onwards all secondhahd imported cars will have thier road tax calculated by thier CO2 emmisions, and its not good for any prospective E30 owner, from july next if you bring a 325i cab into ireland and intend keeping it there, it will cost about ┚¬2K to tax annually. Thats the sodding greens for you..
