Here is my latest E30,my 3rd IS after a brief interlude with a 325i,just so I could see what all the fuss was about in the 325vs 318 debate, turns out the six pots are rubbish
This one is a bit special as far as they go,as it has about every option pssible from new. Its a 2 owner car the last keeper has had it since 95 and has done about 150k in it in that period, never sparing a penny. Its a local car to me as it was supplied new by Malton BMW and has main stealer history up until recently from there. The chap had every type of m3 over the years and this was his wifes car.
It has all the bits, full sport leather, upgrade stereo with tweeter pods/fader switch/10 disc etc. Full genuine tech 2 kit, elec everything(all working) OBC in dash not roof.
It was a bit faded and shabby looking when I got it yesterday as its been stood for ages(the owner has moved to spain) but its solid,no rot or welding etc(unlike my 6 pot  ) Jibowski on the zone had it on a ramp and he also pointed out how solid it was.
It will be my track car so i am not sure what I am going to do with it as yet,it will be getting supercharged, but I dont know what I am doing with the other bits,it seems a shame to strip it but the leather etc would pay for all the go faster bits....watch the for sale section winkeye

For the polishing/detailing nerds on here....Before after test bit on the rear bumper-just compound and machine glaze

I quite like it,still need to clean the inside-job for the morning
Sorry bout the cr@p pics-my phone has just about had it!

Looks like a great IS. I think you're making a big mistake if you strip to make a track car. That's not right, when it's so highly spec'd and so well looked after.

Don't do it man.

Thought that may be the response! I had this one before and loved it,it was mint aswell,I tracked it but in road trim, with Z3 rack etc on it. Tempted to do the same with this one but its a lot of weight to haul round :D

Buy another one that's seen better days (body and trim wise) and track the ars~hole out of it. Or maybe just buy a standard 4 pot and stick an M42 in it.
I think it's wrong.

I only got this one as it was looking lost! I would ideally have a rougher one for track use but I dont have bottom less pockets,if a good offer came along for this thats what I would do.
It needs some new number plates and a little bit of paint to make perfect-job for winter!

What sort of offer would be considered good. They're sought after devils over here. I'll put a wee word out if you have a price in mind.

looking good schuey, nice to see you picked it up. considering how much you paid its really up to you what you'd like to do, but this would surely make a very nice daily driver if you stick a new M42 in... keep us updated on your plans.

Sell it for a tidy profit. Buy a rougher iS and spend the change on modifications!

Looks a nice car though!

It would be fine as a daily driver now,it runs perfect and feels tight as its had all new bushes etc for its last mot.
I have grown quite attached to it over the weekend so it may end up a bit of a sunday car as I have a 20v turbo passat as family ride and a 56 plate vw transporter t5 van for work,so its not like i need another daily driver.
I will have to track it if I dont get another one as trackdays in the passat are bad news!
Like I said I may do the bits of paint it needs(mirrors, sunroof panel) and get a new bit of piping put on the edge of the drivers seat and sell up......I'm not sure.......... :?:

Track the bitch!!!! Lovely looking car there. At the end of the day, it's only a lump of tin. Either sell it for profit or do as you will. Could even strip it and put the morsels into storage.

Don't send it to Ireland, it'll end up as a donut machine.

the back half is now sitting in my garage, as im getting rid of the interior, but ill keep the iS check in a safe place for another car if i get one as im yet to ever see another car with it in. going the stripped out bucket seated route. i beleive it was only avaliable as an option in the red iS's

and a picture of the beige iS check.

True, alot of Our E30s have gone that way...

But, Sell it to one of us thats on E30owners or a friend of one of our memebers and it'll be safe and will be looked after

If you put a Z3 rack on this one and sold her over her, you'd get a buyer pretty sharpish since we're all having to use crapy 4 turn E30 racks

It's a lovely looking iS, a shame to strip it. You would have to be swapping the bumpers and pulling off the door pods and everything to actually be serious about weight saving. Then it'll just look crap.
Better off to keep her as is and maybe do a few track days as she is or sell her to someone who wants her that way.

Also be an awful shame to gut it since everything has been on her since the day it left BMW.
