Went to my first ever show yesterday at Harewood house. It was the North East concours venue. After a brief phone call from the event organizer on Friday. I decided to make an effort and go. More than anything it was for the experience and to see what makes a car achieve the 'Concours' Status. As you will see there were some stunning cars. Hope you enjoy the photos!

I'll have to check. Took about 200 photos altogether which included the Porsche GB event too.

Yeah it got it's fair share. There were people who kept coming back to the car frequently asking questions etc.

Now, where is that lottery ticket? Why oh why do so many people with money have such a poor taste, i fail to see how a bloody SUV on 30" wheels is money better spent than any of these beauties?

I still can't get over the old e28's, I don't care that there are faster, more economical and (arguably) better looking cars out there!

<Little Britain mode> I want that one! </Little Britain mode>

On a sadder note, looking at that perfect 318 brilliantrot touring makes me realize just how my own touring is (to paraphrase Douglas Adams) almost but not quite entirely unlike concourse.

There were two brilliant red E30's 323's that won the course in their class. The engine bays were like something I've never seen before. Clean was an understatement. Incredible Paintwork. See photos.

There was aslo a white 316 which again was flawless. These cars are olny taken out for showns then put back the garage and covered up.

There are some real stunners there....

i have to say though.....i don't agree with the ....take it to shows, and then wrap it up thing....

yes, we all like the car clean, but these car's are made to be driven!

If i owned any of those i definately wouldn't stash it away most of the year!

Completely agree. Come rain, snow and all the other elements I do 20k in mine and have to say I was more than happy to have it parked next to some of the cars which only had a few thousand miles on the clock.

Some people couldn't believe the mileage I'd done and the condition it was in.

Wow, absolutely fantastic, many thanks for posting those up Hubble. I would dearly like to go to an event like this (the bonus is, the missus would too!) So need to find out when and where the next one is that I can get to!

How stunning is that white E28 M5, is that the mega miler but still in pukka nick M5?

Your absolutely right alex. It was the official press car from 1983. The real macoy. He had all the paper work, photos magazine spreads, everything laid out. The car was 'As new' in fact better than new

If you were to buy that car back in 1983 from BMW it wouldn't have been in that condition. You've probably seen the engine bay?? BRAND NEW is an understatement.

Quite funny thought at the end of the show the owner was putting this black plastic covering all over the front end of the car held on with masking tape. This was to prevent any stone chips etc for the drive home.

Hi Thanks for the comments. I use a mix of products. Swissvax, Megs and and Autosmart. Mostly Swissxax though. The Zuffenhausen Wax is stunning. A really deep lusture finish.
