I was thinking of building a similar car. My mate is a serious car modding wiz and could do it easily. Do the 2-doors have longer doors? In which case I'd have to put some of them in, to ease access to the back seats and move the pillars back. It would get that VW type3 Variant(that I've always loved) look. Might have to wait until I'm considerably richer though. :(

There is a single "factory" e30 M3 touring in existance. It was made by BMW, reason unknown to me. They still have it.

There are several other examples, made by enthusiest metal workers.

Terry Sayther built one, likely the best quality one out there.

I'm going for a interview there later this month :)

That looks like a serious upgrade. I think the only improvement on it (with a far greater amount of work) would be to convert it to 3 doors. The article on doing the S52 motor converion was good also.

Shame I'm in the UK, would'nt mid a 3 door S52 powered touring based on my little 325
