After collecting her from Spolondike last Saturday, yesterday was the first time I spent some time driving the Sport 8)

What a difference to my regular drive (325i Auto Cab. pics below).

She drives really well, pulls away pretty rapidly, sounds great and goes sideways with a little provocation winkeye

I had a lot of fun yesterday, point her in the right direction and she goes. Feels far more connected to the road than the Cab., almost go-kart like compared to the kind of ride the Cab. offers. Now and then the front was going one way and the rears were sliding in the opposite direction :D

Anyway, load of work to be done before she's right. For now, here's some pics. Enjoy...

Thanks for the comments.

Up close, the car is something else - she's bubbling away like a bottle of cheap fizzy wine. She's going in to the garage soon to see if the dreaded tin-worm is beyond economical repair.

She needs welding in the usual places, new arches, some engine and other mods. (details below) plus a full respray in Lachs Silver when everything is sorted.

Mods. wise, the plan is as follows:

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

BTB 6 Branch
BBTB
Z3 Short Shift
K & N Air Filter

SUSPENSION

H & R Cup Kit/Eibach Shocks/Springs - 30mm
H & R / Eibach ARB Kit
E46 M3 Rear Top Mounts / Rogue Engineering
New Bushes (sub-frame, anti-roll bar, link arms & diff.)

BRAKES

ATE Power Discs & Pads
ATE Super Blue Racing Fluid

LIGHTING

OE amber indicators and repeaters

STYLING

OE Replacement Tech I Rear Spoiler
OE Chrome Grill
OE Pedal Rubbers
MTECH 2 Small Diameter Steering Wheel
Replacement Clocks
Leather Gear Lever Knob / Gaitor / Handbrake Handle
Painted Rocker Cover / Inlet Manifold / Calipers
New BMW Roundels

I may also retrofit an OBC, lights-on warning buzzer and interior light delay (if I can get hold of one).

That's enough

Neil, the plan has always been Cab. for the summer, Sport for the winter.

If the Sport is beyond economical repair, then I will have to re-think my strategy winkeye

Bazza - not sure I will be at Lakeside fella. Loads on this month, if I do, it'll be the Tech 1 as the Cab. is still being worked on.

Jay-T, I am in Sale on the first Saturday of March as I am helping a friend move.

I am staying in Hulme on Saturday night (yes, I know it's a bit dodgy) but should be in Heaton Mersey on Sunday morning. PM me your mobile number.

By the way, I will be in a Ford Transit van of some description!

Cheers
