Hi guys,

thnx to a friend of me (Jimmybmw) i've started to visit this site and decided to show you all what I'm doing in my spare time.

My BMW is a 320i type2, 1988, 4 doors, Delphingrey.

I bought the car in january '06 with only one goal: restore her and give her a new way of life.

I had decided to do it on a proper way... so we start buying stuff.

A gruppe A exhaust
2 sportseats (recaro's)
Red/white clear taillights
M-tech2 bumperkit (black)
Borbet wheels (16", 7.5J and 9J)
M-tech2 mirror inside
M-tech2 steering wheel
Bavaria Radio
Electrical windows
M-tech2 suspension
...

I've placed a complete list in and on the car that I even can't remember what anymore :P

hereby a few pic's of how she looks today.

you'll notice that there is still some tape to hold the m-tech up, but that's already managed today :P Also the front bumper is repainted and I know that I still have to drop the car :P the Gruppe A isn't yet installed on the pic's, but that's also already managed...

@all: tnx for the comments

and I already had a dozen discussions about the mtech kit and the lights

the lights is one of the things that i'll replace (on a short term)
the mtech stays matt black, she gives me the feeling to be wider and more agressive this way :P

@eun: the kit stays black yeah... I can't help it but it looks just great to me :P

I think there are 3 types of wheels that are looking awesome on an E30... Azev A, Borbet A and alpina's

A lot of people say that they would spray the kit... and the few that are telling to leave the kit black, they ask me if I don't plan to respray the complete car in matt black... nah it's a bmw, not a vw golf I ratstyle ;)

and it isn't a coupé, but i'm planning to buy one more when this one is as good as it gets... have 3 options:

1. cabrio
2. Touring
3. coupé

it doesn't matter to me, as long as it is an E30 ;)

what does a man do when he's at home and is having a project in the garage? right... he starts to hear some things... when he's trying to find out what he hears, he notices that the car is screaming at him... screaming for some attention... at that point I can't resist her anymore and decide to do something... at that point, she starts smiling :P

ok back serious now...

i'm having some time of so working a bit on the car...

The M-tech2 front bumper had a little crack that had to be fixed, so we've done that today, i have to finish it tomorrow and so we also can respray that :P
I've removed the manual antenna and replaced it by an electrical version, now i only need to find the original cabling :P
After that i started with some threatments inside the trunk. 3 spots of rust :( 1 is a little hole now, so that will be fixed tomorrow, the other 2 are already managed... :D I've decided also to remove everything in the trunk, to clean it completely up and treat the complete trunk with tectyl. After that i'm sure that she's allright there :P
I've also done a little restoration in the front of the car, 1 very smile spot of rust that 's removed and repainted ;)

Besides that I've also another set of rear light for my beauty... smoked ones. I guess that my car will look real bad when she's finished... dark headlights, dark sidemarkers, matt black kit around, dark rear lights,...

Tomorrow i will be threating the trunk and front bumper, maybe i'm gonna start also to change the brakes or will be installing the Edition seat belts in my car. as you can see, still al ot of work has to be done ;) but peace by peace will give me the result i want :P

cheers and pic's will follow tomorrow :P

and up we go :)

As promised also a few pics today...

Yesterday I've worked on the front bumper, which is not yet finished (started too late today :P), but as you can see, this was how she looked like yesterday:

Image

And afterwards we went onto the back of the car... The rust problem is managed, not the entire trunck received a coat of tectyl, but the 2 parts on the sides, the place for the sparewheel and the weldinglines in the trunk did... (no pic of that). if you watch the pic, you can see that the rust is removed, the hole is fixed and afterwards threated with tectyl (both the spots on the right and the left :) ):

Image

After that i've installed the carpets in the trunk etc and placed my new rear lights , hope you like them more then the red/white clear lights :P

Image
Image

And offcourse, i've changed one of the rubbers on the pedals, because that one was broken...

before:
Image

after:
Image

Today I also received (tnx to my brother for picking it up) my new thermostat and DHL passed by with my new sunroof ;)

PS: you'll notice that the clothing inside the car isn't done yet :P

hope you guys like it ;)

like :

finally... i've done again something to my beloved that's parked in the garage...

- Replaced thermostat
- renewed cooling water (old out, flush of system, new in)
- replaced sunroof

Replacing the thermostat wasn't hard probleem at all. Being sure that there was no aire in the cooling system went smooth, my temp meter don't raise above the middle. I only have to replace the temp. sensor and the sensor that gives the temperature towards the ECU (cost about 35Ԛ£ and done) and after that my car will run as she should run ;)

Sunroof... damn, what a f*cking task... As you can see in here below, the roof didn't close and open anymore as it should. When it was closed, it looked like this:

Image

I already bought a new one, this because mine was starting have some spots of metal that became weak and i wanna be sure that it's done quite allright. The only pain in the ass was that it didn't went as easy as i wanted. Because of this there allready a few scratches on the roof, but i hope i can get it away with some polishing... But after all i made it and i know how the shitty thing works now. So all i gotta do there is put the clothing in place ;)

result:

Image

Normally everything should go a lot quicker with my precious ;)

keep you posted ;)
