Cheers everyone, glad you like it.

Theo - I dont reckon I am in the paying league yet mate, a bit more practice on a few more of my trade cars required I think... ;)

Gareth, if the car does well tonight, I think a detail is the least I can do for you mate...

Cheers,

Quite possibly, depends how this one goes in the next 20 mins or so. I am trying to run a business so I need to be mindful of what cars I choose - have been ruled by my heart before and got badly stung.

I do love 'em though and there are plenty out there that need a bit of minor restoration - as long as I am honest and people know that I will be trying to sell them on then this could be the first of a few.. :D

Yup, I am not best pleased but that is the risk you take with no reserve and I make a point of not manipulating auctions - its just not on.

I have always maintained that cars will reach their true market value if advertised and prepared correctly so I have to wear it when it doest go quite as expected. The only thing I could possibly put it down to is finishing the auction at 11:15pm, usually I finish them at 9:30.

Bloke is coming round to 'view' tonight, kind of not that bothered if he turns out to be a messer cos I am sure I could get nearer 1750 if given a second chance... does seem genuine enough though and its not his fault he got it cheap - fair play to him!!! :)

Well, I'll be buggered. Chap turns up to view the car and tells me he only wanted to spend 1200 but got a little carried away... :?

Anyway, spent 10 mins chewing the fat and telling him about the car and then go on a test drive, absolutely fine but afterwards he has a quiet chat with his mate and they reckon the head gasket is on its way out and the clutch is a bit high... I kept my trap well shut, I know there is absolutely nothing wrong with it but could smell an offer coming in...

I stopped him before the inevitable and said if he was thinking of making an offer then not to bother. Sent him away to 'think about it' and just got a text saying he had 1100 if I wanted it. Chancer if ever I met one, but aat least he was polite - I'll give him that.

So it will be back up on ebay as of next Thursday where I hope it realises its true value, certainly wont be ending at 11:15pm!!! :D

Cheers,

Hi,

Suprisingly I have found ebay pretty good in the past - provided all the ingredients are right.. I have spent thousands with autotrader (literally) for very little return. Local rags are a waste of time.

At auction end I had 137 watchers on it, I reckon if I end the auction earlier I will have better luck...

Cheers.

Cool. I wasn't sure tbh as ebay can be weird sometimes. A;; depends i spose. I see what you mean about spending all the money though. Plus tire kickers are a pain!! Best of luck with it on the next auction. :D

zaino is such a mile above anything else

wash that car once a week for 9 months and it will still look like that

the results that are achievable are incrdible

theres more to be got out of that paint without a doubt but as you become more at ease with the products and pc/rotary that will come but congrats to pad for his efforts as i know detailing to this degree was new to him and he has stuck with it

present a car properly and allow it to show its strengths to the absolute best and selling them is so much easier
