Okay guys, here goes

Since a very young age I wanted an e30, loved everything about them, especially those curves (or the lack of them haha), how good they look lowered and so on, but wasnt able to source/afford one..

So yeah last year finally managed to afford a car and bought myself an e36 323 vert, which was great fun! But later on I noticed the chassis wasnt even height on all 4 corners, not to mention rustyness, leaky roof, burning oil, etc..

So I decided Ill just invest into the engine and drivetrain and later on swap most of the parts onto e30.. Not long after engine developed tapping noise, which was the lifters, was quoted 300 for repairs, which seemed ridiculous as I had a butchers on ebay and you could get a m52b28 engine for as little as 250 or so, and thats what I did! Obviously this engine wasnt flawless, many parts broke down and instead of replacing them with the same ones, I looked for upgrades and ended up with m52b30 stroker with 330 cams, rotating assembly, m50nv intake on exhaust, m50 manifold, BBTB, 3.5" MAF and intake, loads of new sensors and lighter flywheel, fan delete and such

Well, the moment finally came when MOT and tax ran out for the vert, and I got myself a long awaited e30 (chooligan as we call em :D) Heres the two together

and the one i bought

Ill be making this my daily fast car

Parts list (more of a note for myself):

e34 sump, oil pickup, and dipstick +
e28 535 engine mounts +
brown temp sensor
rear 5 lug conversion
respray

Many thanks for any help, there will obviously be more pictures as the build progresses

First off Welcome to the zone mate! :thumb:

Secondly is the E30 going to be a drift car or a daily as most drift cars are left in the state its currently in as it wouldn't matter to be bashed about a bit..

If its going to be your daily you've got your work cut out for you there mate!

Either way I'm subscribing for the journey :thumb: Good luck!

Thanks!

Nah, it wont be just a skidcar, Ill bring it back to shape ;) Work starts on 26th of next month, off to spain for a holiday now as the MINI factory I work at has shutdown for a week to prepare for the new f54 models

Still need to source some parts until then.. Guess this isnt the best 'subforum' to ask questions then, is it?

Just got back.. If it wasnt for this build I'd be depressed right now coming back from 28-30 degrees of cloudless sky every day haha

Anyway, my question was: will the e36 front suspension, e46 trailing arms, e36 cheapo ebay coilovers, e46 steering rack, adjustable top camber plates, modified e36 hubs/knuckles, etc fit the e30? Will I need some eccentric bushings?

Also how about the X-brace?

And as for the rear setup what would be more cost/performance effective: 318ti whole rear suspension or just z3 6 cylinder rotors and calipers? Does anyone have something laying about?
