Hi all,

Recently purchased another 325i convertible, factory tech-1. Quite happy with this purchase, wanted this car for ages but missed out! finally I own it.

Overall car is in reasonable condition however does need improvements & care! car drove smoothly all the way back, engine runs nice but has been parked up for few months, bodywork was faded, turning white & pink in places, interior is in reasonable condition, back seat has split in middle!

Pictures as we got the car back

Engine Bay

No interior pictures as yet, will get some uploaded. As shown bodywork is faded, but that will get sorted 8) engine bay needs a good clean, want to get the rocker cover & inlet manifold powder coated once I get all the service done etc..

Here Is A List Of What Will Be Done To The Car

Ӣ The Kit Could Do With Re-Spraying, mirrors & wings
Ӣ Replace Front Wings, As Ones On The Car Are RUSTY
Ӣ Definitely Needs Lowering
Ӣ Needs A Thorough Machine Polish
Ӣ Interior Needs A Good Clean As I Don't Think Its Ever Been Done!
Ӣ M-Tech 1 Steering Wheel
Ӣ Has Original BBS'S But Would Like Some Deep Dish Alloys
Ӣ Shadow Line Doing Black
Ӣ Headlight Grills & Vents Re-Spraying Satin Black
Ӣ Upgrade All Bulbs To H.I.D
Ӣ Pressed Number Plates & Surrounds
Ӣ Will Carry Out A Service & Upgrade Essential Parts

Could Possibly Add To The List As The Months Go By”¦.

Whats Been Done So Far....

Ӣ Pair Of Wings Purchased
Ӣ Interior Has Been Fully Washed Including Carpets ( Autoglym )
Ӣ Full Machine Polish, Using 3M Cutting Compound Then Autoglym! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!
Ӣ Standard Wash

First weekend on the car decided to sort the bodywork out, done a full machine polish, have to say myself quite chuffed 8)

Mop Done, Gave It A Wash After

Satursday 20th Decemeber 2014

Picked up my 318i cabby from the bodyshop after 2 months, decided to put the hardtop on the red one for a while, to be honest prefer it on this too 8)

Monday 12th January 2015!

Late update, collected the car last week from the garage, quite pleased with the work which was carried out, car is running sweet NOW! also had a scorpion le mans back box fitted, sounds great, however there are pin holes in the middle box, so will be either getting a stainless steel one made or wait for one to pop up! also front lower arm bushes are abit worn, so waiting on them to be free again so i can drop it! nice drop to it with the new springs & shocks also fitted a M-tech 1 steering wheel!

Also had a word with the bodyshop today, will be dropped of end of January!

UPDATE 11/03/2015

Not really had time to do anything with my tech-1, been really busy lately however today a friend of mine was determined to get this project back under way, so of comes with the old wings & used ones fitted. Got to say the wings on the car were pretty much gone, the used new ones are ok, still had slight rust but removed most of it. i also painted the inside of the wings before fitting with the colour of car & stone guarded the inside of the wings & the front wheel arches. Will need to replace the front valance as i poked a hole through a rust bubble! GREAT!!

Skirts were a pain to come of, will probably need new brackets now! sorry for the pictures been a long day doing this. Will upload some better pictures soon as i might give a go painting it myself!! still need to bolt on the passenger wing properly as went dark by the time i go to it!

The inlet manifold is not too hard to do mate, my advice would be :
-Get fresh manifold gaskets as im pretty certain they will tear and need replacing anyway
-Get tags and tag up things/wiring you remove so you can put it back in the right place
-Take pictures before you strip anything so you can always refer back to if you get confused.

message me if you get stuck id be glad to help :thumb:
