My new car, went and fetched it last night from a barn in wales after it spent all its life in brixton london, all mots from new BMW service till 2010,

nice drive and pulls really well, but theres a few issues the OBC reckons its minus 300 i know its been a bda summer not that cold though,

The warning light for the washer fluid is on bit theres plenty of fluid (thinking sensor)

The fan doesnt work at all, fuse or maybe the fan?!

aprat from that all seems well :)

but never in my life have a i seen a car with so much mud under the arches took me about £10 in jet wash tokens to get it all off but underneath the arches are amazingly good, bit frilly on the very edge but thats it :)

heres some photos from the add but il take some better ones one evening this week.

Looks a nice car!

The washer sensors can sometimes spin round so that they are upside down and think it is empty. Also it sounds like the outside air temp sensor could do with changing, it is in the duct on the passenger side of the front bumper (next to the fog light).

I had this problem with mine though and a new sensor did not fix it, the wiring was damaged and needed soldering back together.

cheers mate yeah its pretty tidy and feels tight,

just those few niggles really but its a 20+ year old BMW so to be expected,

cheers for the info regarding the sensors, when i was jet washing it the other day i noticed what i think is the outside air temp sensor hanging down by the pass wheel arch, so i guess the fact its not attached to anything will be the start of fixing the problem.

nice to be back in an e30 though :)

Your bound to have a few issues with it, i think you have to spend a hell of a lot of money on one of these to get one that is any way near perfect!

The fan is proberbly seized up as well mate, it can be got at through the plate on the bulkhead in the engine bay. Have a look at this on the wiki as you may be able to loosen it off. Worth a try as it needs to be removed to replace if it's faulty anyway:

yeah agreed, to be honest i suprised at the small amount of issues if found, so far that is :)

thanks for the links regarding the heater, i think with the nice weather predicted over the weekend il be spending it hopefully curing a few of the issues.

and washing it again, stepped out the house this morning and it looks like an albatross has shit on the whole side
