so iv just joined and everyone has made me feel welcome so ill get these pics up of the e30 i just picked up.

212000 on the clock drove it back on a 100mile journey in 2 hours and had no problems what so ever. the bodywork has seen better days but the two major rust spots are the wings which im just going to replace and repair the other two bits on the sill. all electrics work fine anyhow some pics sorry for all the random pointless pictures but its my first one so it gets full attention:

The roof looks a bit fruity - I'd be looking at that first tbh. Good colour and spec though.

rite guys just changed all lights to normal looks soo much better riped all the shity stickers off and washed the fooker.

plan of attack:

replace both wings as they are rusted to crap
repair all rust spots even if i only get into primer ill be happy
repaint the wheels as they are rusty too
all dints will be done in time but in the meantime ill be giving it a full machine polish just to give it a bit of shine to it
get the mechanice next door to look at it she if anything needs doing
defo need a new exaust its blowing

also does anyone know what this problem may be when i start it its chudders a little and sounds like its about to conk out but then gains life and idles fine, ill take it to the garage anyway but wonder if anyone knows what it may be cheers.

will get some pics up afternoon need pick my sister up from catrick army so will be a while

welcome to the zone, nice little project ! whats the thick black stuff around the bottom of the turret ? is it weld painted over or some thick black stuff ? get that checked out !

really you should get the car stripped and a good look at it for rot and rust before ploughing money in and get a good picture of whats needed ,ie as andy says get that roof checked out as that can be a breaker senario, and the rear arches from inside behind the rear door cards etc

Check the jacking points whilst the wings are off, poke them with a screwdriver and see if they go through

just noticed the wind deflectors around the doors......1st time i've seen them fitted to an e30.

not sure how the hell you managed to get those wings on with the front bumper fitted, for that i take my hat off to you.

did you remove the outer casing on the bumper leaving the carrier on the car to get a bit more access ?

haha it was a right part on mate basically since the old wings wer getting scrapped i just took them off any way i could but when i was fitting the new ones it was a right 2 hours work i took the two 10mm bolts out the side of the bumper and some other parts to get to the underneith of the front bolt that right next to the light, as for the part thats right behind the side of the bumper i put a bit of card board in so i could just say fit a spanner in was a nigh mare
