Suppose I should start a build thread for the new project :)

As some of you know I bought the Chromie I have with the intentions of building a Diamond Schwartz coupe, after some thought I decided not to go ahead with what i had originaly planed to do. Steve had previously sugested droping down for a look at what he had to offer in exchange for the Chromie so I took a trip down to Steves the week before last with Mick which resulted in a deal being made 8)

The car is a Facelift 316 Auto in Diamond Schwartz Black

The plan is to remove the Auto lump and running gear which will be replaced with my 2.7 and running gear from the cabby, along with the manual set up and LSD.

Me and Mick had another drive down to Steves last weekend to start putting the interior together, Im going with a checked iS interior for now and I have a Black Sport headlining to fit, I will be looking to replace this with a nice black sport leather interior at a later date.

Going to have my Tech II kit resprayed in Diamond Schwartz and have that fitted, I cant decide wether to go with the Tech II spoiler or to go for a Tech I spoiler? Opinions welcome :)

Im not going to go with Borbets on this one, I am not sure on what wheels to go for yet, possibly some Alpinas. I like the 16" Hartge rims but the way its going looks like most of the north east e30 boys are going to be sporting them

I have a few other bits from the cabby like Smoked Headlights and Head light wash wiper kit which i can fit to this.

Didnt get many pics but heres afew for now:

Murphy
Do you still want those tech 1 skirts ?
If not bring them back to me or you can do what you like with them, sell them on or whatever !
Paypal's ok or letter box !?
PS. My vote is for a Tech1 spoiler or nothing.

Dan being honest if i kept the Chromie it would have to have colour change ect.. as i just dont like it as it is. So i feel passing it on is the best thing to do :)

Well i suppose i should get some updates going with this one, Been a little busy tonight.

Mick came over tonight so we could get the 2.7 out of the cabby before it go's. After 2 and a half hours and a few refreshments we had the Donk, Lsd, Prop ect.. out :D and tucked away in the garage.

Image

Image

Image

While the Donk is out i will have the chance to refresh a few things, i have a fresh close ratio box thanks to Steve :) which will replace the shagged box ( abused by a Nitrous junkie winkeye ) so i will go for a new clutch ect.. and will be looking to hve the fly wheel lightened. Any info on this would be great :)

Thinking i should also be getting in touch with Gareth to find out about having the LSD refurbed.

got loads of bits to take pics of and stick in here but just havnt had the time lately. might get round to it at the weekend if i get time.

UPS turned up this morning aswell and greeted me with these

I will just be having my Tech II kit sprayed in Diamond shwartz for the coupe, and when fitted the car will be proffesionaly machine polished.

To be honest the car doesnt need a respray its in great condition.

Well the cabs final day has come, Myself and Mick set about fraging the last of the cab on friday.

Pedal box ect.. was removed for the Auto to manual conversion on the coupe and rear disc set up. We were going to just remove the beam but it turned out to be a stuborn b astard so had to leave it and remove the trailing arms. also removed the 51mm front legs and rear springs and shocks. And the cab was ready for collection :D

and the cab ready for collection

Saturday 23.7.11 had an early start out to sort Lloyd out with some panels off the cab at 7.15am, and left the cab on the drive for the local breakers yard to pick up. then I set off over to Micks to pick him up for todays shenanigans (sp?) We set off down to York to meet Scott to grab the Doc's for the coupe and then over to Steves to exchange turds :D

Kieran was round in the M3 which was Spotless :) and another very nice Macau blue M3 with a sexy interior! They looked great together  all these M3s kicking around im going to end up wanting one winkeye

'Q' Mick with some pics from today :)

On the way back we took a detour via Sheffield to Sweeps unit to pick up some seats and deliver some springs, Amongst the collection of fraggers was Petes lovely 2.7 :D a very nice example looked immaculate, after settig off from Petes we ended up making another detour through York to Lee's to do abit off boot swaping :D Both parties happy the coupe isnow sporting a Tech I spoiler and the chromie is sporting the naked look

All in all a good day out. Was nice to meet everyone and put names to faces

A few pics from when i got back

Looking like you are going for it Murphy - i'm sure you will get a great resulting chariot in the end. TechI spoiler was a good choice. Keeping my eye on this thread mate, i'm sure it will become a little belter.
I'll check with the manager
