where do i start here?

Well to say the least i was shocked when browsing to see that Russells low mileage chromie was goin up for sale, over the last few weeks i have had the odd look in his advert to see if it had been snapped up and last night again i had a look and it was still there. i seen that topblag had posted he could collect and deliver if needed and thought f**k it i will take it :)

this way Russell and his partner get the dream house they want and i get a rust free totaly mint 2 door.

so today when i got up and seen it was a nice day i spoke again with Russell and decided to head up for look round the chromie.
so chucked the roof down on the cabby and had a nice cruise up to Fife Was great to meet Russell the guys a true Gent :) and theres no doubting that once in there new home he will be on the hunt for another tidy E30 winkeye

I look forward to getting the chromie home next week

heres a couple of quick pics from today:

Good on you Murphy

Russell, good luck in your new home and don't be a stranger to the zone!
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Well to be honest mate i have never been a big fan of the pre facelif models, but i do love a tidy Tech I Sport.

.
The plans are:
have her stripped down and resprayed in Black and fully treated underneath. (should be a nice straight forward build as the shell is imaculate)
Rear brakes are drums so will be looking to have that changed over for a disc conversion
Sort a nice interior out (not a fan of the blue or comfort seats)
Gaz coilovers all round (not on its arse like the cabby  just a nice subtle drop)
Full Tech I kit and Tech I spoiler
BBS RS's (15s or 16s) will have to have a think on that one :)
And more than likely an M52 Donk :D (Sorry Jim winkeye )

All in good time though as i still have a lot to get the cabby finished

M52 FTW in this one i thinks 8)

so yes a very low mileage auto will be up for grabs, not for a good while though.

I was days away from collecting an e36 328i to put the M52 in the cabby until my spare of the moment descision on the chromie.

so the cabby will keep the 2.7 and this will get the M52

Good motor that! When you say black, I hope you mean a genuine bmw colour! And make sure its metallic/pearl black! None of that straight black gloss nonsense! Looking forward to seeing this project unfold even though the concourse shell is an all around great original, all good examples should look the smartest they can. Tech1 and bbs rs on a slight drop is deffo FTW
I'll check with the manager

No molesting involved, simply a colour change with the addition of a Tech I kit (was thinking DiamondShwartz Black)

A good suspension set up, some BBS RS's and a Quick Engine

I would say well treated not molested! unfortunately im not a fan of the basic model. I am not in a position to fork out for a mint Sport so i will build my own :D

If there was an inkling that this car was going to end up abused, I would of lent Russ 1k and asked him to look after it for me.

Seriously, it needs to be saved.

sorry murphy but I am not with you on this one,

this car has lasted 27 years by being very carefully looked after and is a testament to it's previous owners,
although it is a 320i auto which sadly is about as desirable as gonorrhea,
it is still a piece of motoring/BMW history ..
it is YOUR car and your money so it's obviously your call, but it seems very sad to make a classic car worthless,
I have a solid shell should you need one ? and I would buy this from you, sounds like a great project mate but i think you have the wrong base car !!

Seems a bit wierd this 1. Cars ace as it is. And Murphy wants to turn it into a mean eyecatching machine. The way i look at it is this, if i showed 10 people the original they wouldn't care. But if i showed them the tech1'd lowered bbs'd smart looking pre-face, i just know they'd like it.

When you're an enthusiast you want to see concourse - but if Murphy spends another four figure sum replicating it to become a sport but stil keeping it as concourse as possible without sticking a huge kenwood sticker on the back window etc. Then i think this car has still gone to a good home!

It's your car and your choices but do you actually read threads about the good ones disappearing, gone are the days when 2dr clean shells were ten a penny.

These examples are getting extremely thin on the ground, I thought another genuine collector would snap this up and continue with it's legacy.

And why should I offer £1500 :?

all the cr24v chaps have used 316's but retained the body colour

Dans car has awesome oily bits but it still retains it's original body shape/colour ect it could be reversed in a day if it ever needed to be, it is also a later car,

changing the colour and adding coilovers, tech1 kit ect to this would be a damn shame how many 1984 E30's still exist in this colour, spec ? Believe me, very very few exist, and still have all their metalwork, show me another clean 1984 320i in sapphire blue ?

surely some E30's deserve to be as they were intended this being one of them,
sorry to go on, but for me it's about preservation of cars like this, they deserve to be kept original so others can enjoy them in the future.

:D
