Well im very excited about this one :) As a few of you may know im new to E30's and this forum but ive always wanted one since i was very very young. I brought my first one a few months ago (see this thread) http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... highlight= I have enjoyed working on it and learning about the E30. But as it is a four door and a very high miler i didnt want to invest too much money into it. It has served me well but i have been looking for a minter for a while now :)

So after many hours of trawling the web and forums and being told that i couldnt find a good example 2 door for the money i had (about a grand) i got lucky :) Found this 1986 325i on ebay within my budget and picked it up this morning. Its in amazing condition and i struggled to find rust anywhere. Underneath is all undersealed and engine is clean enough to eat your dinner off. Tons of receipts, one from last month showing an expensive wheel refurb and they look fantastic :)

I have spent the day sorting out silly niggles like stereo and fixing little switches and tidying up wiring etc etc. Then me and my mate at uni went for a drive and got some pictures around our uni in hertfordshire.

Cant begin to say how happy i am with the car so heres some photos of the day :)

Let me know what you think and watch this space for many things to come!

P.S Yeh its getting lowered soon, its on stilts at the mo!

Thanks

Adam

Thanks for the comments guys, so happy with it :) Its brand new bilstein shocks and springs all round literally a week old as the guy fitted them the day before i picked the car up. Can i just the replace the springs or are shortened shocks advisable? probly looking to go around 60mm? as the wheels are very small 14's

Thanks again for the comments

What brand of springs are they ? it really shouldn't be sitting that high - they don't take that long to settle.

You don't need to go 60mm it will ruin the handling. 30-40mm tops will be fine - if its got new bilsteins you need Eibach or H&R's to get the best out of them

If you get some 15's on there too it will mask the gap more, go for -40m springs and you should be reet.

Looks like a cracker, is the engine staying or are you thinking of joinging CR24v?

Thanks for the comments :) Engine is staying for now, 1 because im only 20 and the insurance is enough as it is :s and also because i plan to own this car for a long time and theirs plenty of time in the future for turbos and 24 valvers :)

The wheels are staying as i love them and cant really afford to buy some 15's im sure once it lowered it wont be too bad. Ive got a few gigs coming up soon so should be able to afford some springs soon, thanks for the advice on the sprngs. I will have a good look online and find something decent :)

I would not 24V it. Not many original 325i's left in 2 door chromie form.

Plus its a high comp lump.

Lovely car though.

I would use H&R or Eibach springs. 15" BBS wheels would look great.

Nice ride, just wondered what size the tyres are? If they are 195/60 14's (instead of the proper 195/65 14) that would also make the ride height look more than what it should be. Just a thought.....

Good luck with your new wheels dude!!

Got a little bit of work done on the new car tonight :) since buying the car ive heard a rattling coming from the drivers door card so had that off :)

Image

Turned out to be the check strap, just broken and lying in the bottom of the door so will need to get one ordered up :)

Then swapped the back boxes over from my old e30 to this one as i didnt like the pea shooter too much.

Needs adjustment to get it straight but no blowing so all sweet :)

Image

More soon :)

This could be a smashing motor.
15" BBS and sort the ride height out and youre away. Not sure about the exhaust though.

What insurance company are you with? Im 20 too and I can only get horrible quotes on a 325.

Thanks mate, yeh the exhaust isnt amazing but the twin pea shooter looked really bad, was the only rusty thing on the car too so had to go :)

Im with sky insurance, they are good and sort me out for just over 1k :)

hey mate, nice original car, keep it like that.

on the ride height issues - is it carrying a spare? i have seen cars with no spare wheel in the boot sitting much higher at the back. that said, yours does look high all round.

anyway, nothing that you won't get sorted , keep up the good work!
