Thought I'd post up some shots of my winter project which I sold on yesterday for the asking price of 3K. TBH I had the phone off the hook with people even offering more, so that goes to show all you low mileage owners that there is a V good market out there for good cars. Au revoir H996 BUU - cool car!

This was the full advert on pistin heads and the image link is here - shows how writing and photographing your car well helps an easy sale:

FOR SALE - RARE LOW MILAGE - BMW 318is 1991 (The baby M3)

http://s1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee4 ... 0%20318is/

Opportunity for someone to finish off my E30 project as I have been offered a 911 which I cannot say no to so she has to move on. According to the BMW Register there are roughly the same amount of of e30 318is on the road as e30 M3's - which proves how much these cars are dropping off the planet! This car is on a classic insurance policy with an agreed value of £3500 post viewing by the insurer. This car will hold and go up in value - with a small amount of work you could get her into great condition. Golf GTis are the same kind of money and there are lots more of them about!

Genuine 71500 miles!!!! With service history to prove this- see pictures. 11 months MOT and Taxed till end of May 2011. There can't be many about with this low milage. Engine is V strong and Gbox is fine.

This car is the last of the line - in fact the last month this car was ever produced by BMW. You can see this on the V5 and docs

History

The car was imported from Jersey by myself as a project. She has had 5 owners before and spent a little time in France (shown on docs). According to the last owner she was laid up in a barn for about 3 years before he bought her as a run around on the island. He is a Banker and was leaving the Island and put it up for sale on the E30 Zone. The car would make a great start for an engine transplant however the value of the car is in the fact it is original and the engine and chassis all matched up on the BMW system when completing the UK registration process.

Spec:

Diamond black
5 Speed
Black Sports Leather
Sunroof (working)
Rear spoiler - factory
M tec suspension
Central locking
Open 4.11 Diff
UK spec car
BBS wheels - 14inch (come with car)
(All the above are on a printout from BMW which I have)
M tec Steering wheel

What's been completed (the hard bits!)

4 x BRAND New BBS RS replica wheels and NEW Toyo Proxes T1R
NEW M spec Gear knob
NEW Front discs and pads
NEW Full service - fluids (all) filters and plugs from BMW / GS and Halford - receipts for all of this
NEW Thermostat
NEW Belts (not timing chain)
NEW timing tensioner (BMW)
Checked viscous fan
NEW antifreeze
NEW fitted Matts
NEW Alpina front Type 159 spolier - original from Sytner with receipt! Ouch
Handbrake adjusted and rear discs cleaned for MOT
All Folders, Handbooks etc - Even the original 3 series brochure showing the 318is - see pics
NEW Headlight (was cracked)
All import duties have been paid and the car shows that I am the first owner on DVLA. There were 5 owner in Jersey and these include dealers
Lowered 35mm - Any more is a 'no no' on these cars
Comes with the original Mtec springs and 14inch BBS wheels which have two x new Toyo tyres which were needed for the MOT
Keeps perfect temperature
Heater works V well
No lack of performance - 136bhp no problem
THERE IS NO RUST on the chassis, wheel arches or scuttle, door bottoms - very solid indeed and on the ramp you can see the underside is excellent. The boot floor / rear pockets etc are also 100% - see below bits that need 'finishing off':
Immobiliser works
Qualifies for classic insurance - I pay £130 a year fully comp at 37
Quite economical - 35 to the gallon if driven well
Original Blaupunct stereo
All original BMW glass
Comes with FULL top gasket set (BMW) so you can take off the inlet manifold and rocker cover to respray - I would have done this next to finish the engine bay)

Bits that need finishing off:

Sunroof has 3 spots of rust - can be fixed and sprayed
Wings have small dents to the fronts - Can be filled and sprayed - see pics
Some rubbing strips have marked - because the roads in Jersey are so narrow and it has clipped / scratched - you could take them off , flatten and spray
The car has been subject to being broken into at some point and there is minor damage on the passenger side door shut plus the front locks - hence I am supplying with the car a complete lock set - all spare keys included so the new owner can make the car A1. See pics
Small tear in passenger seat leather - you can see in the pics on the outer top bolster but has been repaired at some point - needs a bit of leather filler and some finishing but not bad - all other seats are good.
Carpet needs cleaning
There are couple of dents and scratches due to its age - 20 years old!

I have been 100% upfront on the car - and there are lots of pictures on the link. People do stop and ask about it a lot when I have driven it about - surprisingly so and with all the following on these cars it will only get more attention if finished 100% Saying that the car looks great as is.

Cost

The advertised price is £2995 - no offers

If you want it with the 14" BBS wheels (not the ones shown) I will reduce to £2700 but TBH why would you!

Appreciating classic that you can drive everyday and watch go up in value.

looks a nice thing. Good to see the good cars are making decent money now which is as it should be as they are so much cheaper long term than fixing up the average ones.

Lovely looking iS, do have a soft sport for them since my first E30 was an iS.

Also good to see prices creeping up on these. I really struggled to sell mine 2 1/2 years ago with the same asking price, all others were around the £1400 mark. Had to take a good offer from a lad and off it went to ROI, only had one other enquiry.

They will be Lenso's (BSX maybe), easily available. Just search on Google/Ebay.
