Aha! Its different. :D I do think it would look better without, but ideal if your gonna be using it.

You have no cross members from what I can see in the pic but more pressing imo is the additional weight will be beyond the original specifications to which the clamps are designed to take so worth bearing in mind when working out how much weight it can carry.

i put a rusty bonnet on mine once. It looked sh!t!!!

But that roof rack looks mint, are those brackets easy to get hold of?

i bought some cheap roof bars

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT

took the bars out and replaced them with wood and put slates across

the only thing about the roof bars the the hook that clamps the gutter doesnt swing down enought to hook around and i had to drill some new holes
but all is well now!

umm marking up the wood and cutting about 2 hours to get it straight and then about a day doing 5 coats of varnish :)
