Ive been a e30 owner about 2 years now and a member of this forum for not far off that and never actually shared any photos of my e30 on here so here is how i got it and whats happenin with it now! Ive always liked e30's and when my brothers and friends started getting into the drifting scene i decided to have done with the fwd cars and sold my mk2 golf g60 and bought this 1988 325.

This is pretty much how i bought it but it sat too high in my opinoin so some second hand coilovers later and this is how it looked

It wasnt all roses in the begining. When getting the car i noticed a very loud tapping from the top end so decided to change the head, however the head i bought turned out to be even louder than the one i had replaced. I also noticed that when i put my foot down it kicked out a fair bit of black smoke. So i decided to just change the whole lot and dropped on an engine from a auto cabby with 100k on the clock. Instead of going out one friday i got the lads together and we swapped them over also putin in a new clutch and e36 rack with lock spacers for more steering lock winkeye

The car stayed like this for a while then i took it off the road last may and went away for the summer.
I wanted a much more aggresive look and wanted rid of the alpina reps.I also wanted to give her a much wider stance so started on the arches when i got back and started hunting for rust  i also poly bushed the rear subframe and trailing arms!

This is how she looks now hoping to have her sprayed before christmas so i can build it back together whilst im off work. will keep puttin photos up of my progress.

Hopefully she will be back on the road for early January :D

Got a little bit more done so thought i'd take some photos of the progress. Also the new suspenision turned up :D BC coilover kit. However the rear springs wernt low enough so i took them back and had them changed and the stance is just how i want it now
These are the fronts but they need welding to the hubs.
Image
And the rears fitted (coated them in copper grease, dont want them seizing)
Image

Took the wings off and found it needed a bit of welding  Just where the break line fixes to the inner wing and some in the passengers foot well. This is what it looks like now all done and undersealed back up.
Image

Really happy with the stance of the car now just going to change the spacers on the back from 15mm to 25mm winkeye. Here's a couple more pics of how she sits.

And i got a cheeky one of my bro's Image

will keep updating when i got some more done. Cheers for looking.

Yep its going back the same colour, its like a metalic black. Says Diamantschwarz-metalic on the strut top. Have thought about changing the colour but i quite like this one!

loving this ! exactly how i want my arches so heres the question...

What did you use to flare them, was it an arch rolling tool ? as i am thinking of buying one to do mine with

then a slight skim of filler to finish it off ? thanks dom

loving the car dude

ye just borrowed my mates arch roller. fronts went really easy but the backs were a bit of a pain as they were a bit rusty so the roller wouldnt run smoothly along the arch. Also on the back youre rolling two skins, the inner and outer arch, so it takes alot more force to get them flaring. i just got them best i could and then tapped them into shape with a hammer then a few skims of filler like you said.

Nice work so far. Do you have any pics of the rack modification? Is it just a spacer where the track rod bolts onto the rack?

What's sat by the garage? old honda or toyota??

ah kool i cant wait to do mine. did you heat them up ? or do them in a warmish temp garage ?

so i take it you must kinda beat the arch from bieng in like the L shape to straight then shape with the arch roller ?

yep its just a spacer between the track rod arm and the rack. ordered from chiz fab.

The car infront of the garage is my other bro's ae86 toyota corolla.

nope i didnt bother heating them up. i just took the arch roller straight to the wings as the lip is only small so it just bent the lip round then started flaring the arch. with the back i cut some off the lip as its much bigger on the back arches then did the same with the roller but because it was rusty the arch wasnt a perfect curve so the arch roller didnt run smoothly so it was hard to get it flaring but after a while of rolling it started to take shape. i could still see the line in the arch where it used to go flat (before it was flared) so i just tapped that in with the hammer and a few skims later it was done. Its hard to explain but if u take your time and dont try to flare it too much in one go you'll be fine :D

Good old hachi roku!

more pics please :)
Have you driven with the steering spacers? any difference to normal driving, or is it just better/easier on the lock stops to hold more angle sideways?

It drives no different if anything its better because it makes parking and 3 point turns twice as easy.

Got some more done on the car. New coilovers are fitted, drivers-side wing is back on and ive been cutting some holes in her! This is probably not everyones cup of tea but I like it and it'll look awsome when theres an intercooler lurking behind them, but thats next years plans winkeye See what you think?

I think it's coming along well :)
I had an idea similar to yours for when I eventually turbo mine, but I thought about using an extra grill the same as the original and painting the intercooler black. Although that's for more of a sleeper look.

Got the battery box built back up and the rear valance welded on. I cut one off an e30 what was getting scrapped, the rest of the car was really rotten but suprisingly the rear valance was still solid. Also got the exhaust refitted, charged the battery up and started her. First time shes been running since before i went traveling back in may and she started straight away and was ticking over smoothly :D

Are these old ricers difficult to find new parts for? Mate of mine has a huge pile of mostly genuine, new jap parts, most are difficult to identify but im sure a pervert would be able to sort most of it out :D

Erm they're not too bad tbh, general service parts are really easy to get hold of and also aftermarket parts are easy too. Its body panels, lights, glass etc what are realy hard to get hold of nower days and are pretty expensive.
