i'd be more concerned about the fitting of it, then look at the price/// KAMI wrote:looks nice how much was the roll cage?
safety devises do a rear half for about £450 and it fits properly and has re enforcing plates.

Kos is right they can be a real hassle to fit and unless i had the car stripped right out then i probably wouldn't bother, The cage is from caged and was originally a bolt in but i ended up welding it in whopping a load of seamsealer over the plates then painting it in ./// KAMI wrote:looks nice how much was the roll cage?

nice build and very nice colour.
most on here remove engine and box together as it's less chew to refit.
good work.

its doesnt look like it has fitting plates?
the SD ones have some strong box sections which get welded in for the feet to bolt to and they tuck up close to the B pillar.
BTW you car looks pretty goood

Looking good - what did you use to paint the interior? Proper paint or Hammerite!?

Didnt bother making up the boxes and just welded the foot plates direct to the car as thats what i would have been doing if i was going to bolt it in and the same for the rear, i then blended the paltes in with seamsealer then added paint...Kos wrote:its doesnt look like it has fitting plates?

I used Upol Gravi Tex paintable stonechip through a stone chip gun inside the car and boot area, easy to clean, hides many imperfections and if later i think i want to paint it i can just go straight over the top of it ...Jim78 wrote:Looking good - what did you use to paint the interior? the safety devises cages for e30's have the box sections ready made for the B pillar and strengthening plates for the other feet.
imo they are vital as the metal in these areas is quite thin and would rip in the event of a major impact.
