After months of searching ive finally landed myself my 80's dream!!

A rust *free* 1989 white manual 318i four door for £335....fancied this one so much i travelled 7 hours from North Wales to Essex to get her!! (and she performed admirably on the 6 hour drive home)......

She will need:

1- Tracking adjustment/calipers
2-Speedo rewiring
3-Possible new clutch
4-rear wheel nut/bearing

and then...

5-D/S new front wing
6-BBS or perhaps Alpina alloys
7-Slight lowering
8-mtech steering wheel/gearstick
9-1 new air duct on the front.

My poor Corsa hasn't had any attention since the E30 rolled up on the drive...

THIS is how much i want my E30 to be a success:

My £300 moredoor was looked over my a BMW specialist in Colwyn Bay today....and the news was not good.

Very poorly looked after by the previous owner, the significant work needed is:

New rear exhaust (he was amazed at the state of it)
Clutch hydraulics (about to die)
Front brake discs and pads (completely kanckered)

£300 of parts, £500 including fitting estimated.....

Im trying to remind myself that the grand total of a (soon-to-be) mint-ish BMW E30 including purchase would be ~£800...which doesn't sound so bad at all.....and whats the point in buying a car like this and letting it fall apart on the drive?!

It looks like the Corsa will have to be sold to fund my addiction!....may have to sell the Mrs too so im open to offers

Exhaust and brakes can be tackled by anyone - even if they dont have any mechanical know how. It would help you to keep the costs down.

Clutch would be a bit tricker and if it goes wrong best to have it where it needs to be to get it repaired!!

Nice find btw

That seems like a lot for brakes and rear exhaust, you should shop around mate.

Thats expensive matey.

I've recently paid £38 for front discs and £16 for pads. A while ago I paid £20 for a rear section of the exhaust, then fitted the above myself.

Clutches arent the most fun thing in the world to change on a driveway but it was my baptism of spannering on e30's and it got me hooked, especially if you've got a corsa for running about in, in the mean time.

Grab yourself a cheap Haynes off ebay and a decent socket set. Just the right time of year for it too

Think you're right guys....garage's can probably see me coming a mile off!

Il get myself a Hayne's manual and a decent jack and cost the brakes at least myself...

As for the Mrs, my friend, i will require an immediate £200 Paypal deposit, and £40 transport by Parcelforce...happy to do business with you!

One job i managed to do myself is rescue and fit a set of E30 alloys from a scrappy in Wrexham....went there looking for BBS (as you all do)...and when i got there, they were in very poor nick...

...so i had a hunt around the scrapyard and found myself a set of BMW E30 O.Z alloy wheels in very good condition on excellent like-new tyres (2X Michelin, 1X Avon, 1X Firebridge) with the centre caps....fancied something a bit different!...and so I gave the nice man £80 for them...

...im not sure what you guys think of this brand as ive not seen it mentioned anywhere, so let me know what you think....
