thought i better get some photos of the work ive done to my tourer so far, this was bought as a 4 seater daily to let the skyline be a weekend toy.a boot big enough to have a silly stereo was a bonus

i got it looking like a well used car,few dents and scratches but it matters not,the body is a lot more solid than many of the cheap e30s ive looked at over the last year, body mods will be kept to a minimum,on with the pics
Image
second day of ownership it overheated, the viscous fan was knackered.then the power steering rack blew the seals on both ends, got that sorted and serviced it,then on with the fun

stripping out the boot area revealed an awful lot of parts

then out with all the seats and the carpets for some quietening, and a touch of surface rust removing around the floor pan plugs

amps need power so before the carpet went back i looked for how i could route the cables, and get rid of the rubbish oe stuff.
new power cable from alt compared to the old stuff

this wire is now covered with convoluted hose

rear battery will live in the oe rear position until the square box goes in the wheel well

battery and power/earth distribution in

power wire is fused behind the quarter panel here

amp earth to thick metal on rear suspension tower with 12mm bolt

thats the supply in,now for the demand

something for the doors

some fleece and fibreglass

then put it all in

and thats where ive got to so far.

got side trims to make for the boot and im sending the door pods away to be flocked(i dont fancy trimming them),
i did about 400 miles and then the autobox gave up so im just waiting for the space to do a manual swap with a rotten 316i ive found for sensible money and then its time to sort out the body trim and wheels ect. hopefully come winter time i can give it a bit more motive force, probably a 2.5,possibly a force induced nissan one!(flame suit on and ready)
