Well i now have the touror home that i got as a free bee, the mot runs out tomorrow so i`m going to start striping it.

first thing on my list is to do the interior completely rip out the touring interior dash seats and carpet and then do the same to the sport swapping everything over that will go dash, electric sunroof kit and panel at the same time sell my black leather to make way for a tour leather.

here a couple of pictures

The engine bay is solid no rust well lacquered and very dirty, 316 m40 has the cam-belt gone so will be lifting it out soon.

borrowed this picture from the net i`m sorta want it looking like this.

i`m also looking for parts mainly doors and leather, pm me if you know of anything must be in sterling silver.

looks a decent start for a project. shame about your sport but at least you got the touring at a good price to compensate

I know how it fells was gutted when I had to break my first sport due to rust.
the tech1 I've got the now most folk would have broke it but it wasn't the worst I've seen hence I'm sticking with it. still a few issues I'm not happy with.
The rear arches were repaired by Bob the builder and it was resprayed by Stevie wonder but ill get it on the road for some summer fun then I'm planning on redoing the rear arches over the winter and getting it resprayed.

now thats funny, as for the engine lee i`m not a big fan of all these big engine changes and one of the things i love about the e30 is that m20b25 just the sound of it makes me smile, so having a new oil pump fit in my m20 and having that put in as i`v just spent £400 on bring it back up to power with out using any mods i will also be having my lsd refubed by garath once it`s off the sport.

Get the sump and oil pick changed over. Get the rubber mounts from the e28 i'm guessing. While the engines out, lighten the flywheel, IS gearbox.

I'm not 100% sure but i think any e28 rubber mounts will do. I'm assuming the engine has come out an e36 considering you were after the e34 sump so you already have the metal mounts.

This is going to be great baz, its a shame the sport was like that but i recon 95% of average condition sports are like that behind the bodykit

Touring will be perfect when done, tech II touring with M50

You need

E34 sump oil pickup pipe & dipstick.
E36 engine arms
E28 M5 rubber engine mounts
M52 exhaust manifold
the 4 pot rad should work will need a temp sensor putting in the side for the leccy fan, an IS one or e36 one would be better as they are bigger
m20 flywheel and clutch
320i gear slector
325i prop
e36 rack

Pm danthe for plug and play looms :D

i think the 4 pot gearbox should work with the m50 :)

Baz, make sure you buy & fit a new sump gasket when you swap over the sumps, you certainly don't want the dramas of needing to replace the gasket once it is in the car :)
