Promised photos of this turd on Kedges thread. We knew it was a shed but f*ck me!!!!! This is something else. the nearside front corner is virtually adrift from the reast of the car!!!!:

To think the seller thought it was savable is laughable really.

A post with wing still on!

Image
Image
Image

and looking from the door shut forwards

Image

It had allowed the car to distort enough to puss the screen out of it's seal with the trim strip still in place 8O

Image

With the wing off we were able to.....

Image

making the door go.....

Image

Roof now. first from the outside

Image

worse from within

Image
Image

just for Pete, a classic bit of the old hairy mary:

Image

Taken from the A post with the wing removed:

Image
Image
Image

Inner sill

Image

and the nearside Tech 1 sill section didn't need unbolting!!! it came away in my hands:

Image
Image

offside wasn't so bad :?

Image

Nearside rear arch

inner arch

And finally: Why buy clear indicators when you canmake your own

This car has been referred to as the Titanic. We think it was one of the relics Robert D Ballard recovered from it's decks!

Urm that is pretty screwed- I've seen worse restored but a Tech 1 wouldn't give you the return to be worth it. Maybe in another 20yrs a find like that will be worth doing for someone- shame :(

Wow that must have taken some real skill to let it rust that badly. Good find. It's a shame to frag a tech 1 but that is definately a no hoper :(

Si's place is looking a bit posh now, what with pimp tinted X5s and all!

Si/Trev have either of you got a tidy 62ltr fuel tank, removed mine this morning to find a couple of rusted bits and want a decent one :)

The only tank we have Henry, is the one from this car. It actually don't look too bad. Si's going to drop it out anyway to check it. We'll let you know but don't hold ya breath! Theres been a squirrel nesting on top of the heat shield above the exhaust. F*ck knows what we're going to find above the tank!!!

well thats deffinately had some plonk slapped in over the years which never really helps other than for the short amount of time it looks slightly better than before, people wonder why they get quoted seemingly high figures for resto work and why they have been quoted less than half by some other geeza and then are surprised when this is the result a short time later.

not saying bad body repair is responsible for ALL this but it doesnt help.

i've never seen so much filler. I nearly pulled the door off with the hinges still attached to the car with whats left of the sill!

Its just been bodged up and painted and served. This thing has been on muddy grass under trees for years before we picked it up

No, the guy we bought it off was served it by a guy in the bodywork game. Theres no doubt he was served a pup from day one. The fact he's in the car game and didn't notice the signs back then, shocks me. this things seen more filler than any Halfords can stock at any time. He paid 2 bags from it! We think it's sat on damp grass for at least 4-5 years.

We can't even get the front seats out 'cos the runners are rusty 8O . we are going to have to cut the floor around the bolts to cut them out the car because theres some good bolsters in there

Pup or not he has let it get that bad. If it's had filler before then that could have been rectified but he's just left the f-ker to rot!!!
