It had no MOT or tax, an overheating problem and a worn out steering joint...
But a full tool kit, first aid kit ,fire ext, working elec roof ,load cover and history.
Other problems were the headlining,cracked dash,wet floor,noisy wiper motor,odd seats,and mould.

The list of parts I wanted was quite long so a donor car was sourced...
A 325I touring with- bilstein lowerd suspension, full sebring exhaust system ,mint condition comfort leather, 2.5 engine with recent new head and reprofiled cam, superchips ECU and 186bhp rolling road printout.
The car came with an uncracked dash and a good headlining

I payed £250 for it as it had a slipping clutch (thanks to a crank oil seal) and was rotten as a pear.

I also sourced a set of 16" comp MO wheels as seen in pics- £200.
Ive got a few rare nice bits which I will add pics of later but here are some pics of the swapping and cleaning- paint cut back ect..

What a mess, this is what happens when you build a car in 12 days...
Any way I used the 2.5 engine with the 2.0 gearbox.
Used a 3.64 diff...along with a LUK nearly new clutch kit.

The cost so far -
Black car...£150
Silver car...£250
T cut,autoglm,oil & fliter,steering fluid,underseal ect...
£100

I sold the comp MOs as I didn't like the look on a touring and bought some alpina reps from Zoner E30 YB,the alps were £240 and I got £300 for the comps so £60 up!!!

The remaing good parts from the silver car were sold, M tec wheel, alloy lower arms, ect.. which has allmost coverd the cost of buying it!

I also removed the oil cooler as I feel it is more of a fault liability than it is usefull

Now for detailing and MOT test.....budget so far- about £300.

The MOT test was fair and I have a pass with a few advisories- welding next year...and who forgot to fit the exhaust/gearbox bracket!
The paint looks good and it is a tidy car the only let down is the bonnet as it has a few small dents,it goes very well and sounds lovely.
BUT..
I was doing a HARTGE theme and the HARTGE wheels I have been hoarding for an eternity and are the reason for buying an E30 have turned out to be bent as Alan Carr....
So the pina reps are now staying and the hartge badges, clocks, and s/wheel are going in favour of Alpina parts.
I have got most of it - but I will need to source a front spoiler and the Alpina boot script(i have the C2 ones) the only alpina steering wheel I have is the earlier metal spoke type...anyway here are some poor pics of the story so far.

Ps- I hate eyebrows and I dont know why I fitted them. I will remove them. And snap them. I was in chav mode when I did the front end

I didn't realise how bad the pics were sorry..
Will do some better ones with interior shots and engine shots when the snow has gone...

But the project so far is no more than £500 and a lot of graft
However I could not have bought a manual 325i tourer this clean with leather and other goodies for less than double this - I know because i looked..
I still need a few bits such as new plates, and road tax but im realy pleased with it so far.

Flog the Pina reps and buy some Hartge ones, there are too many Pina reps around and not enough Hartge based cars in my opinion.

barryj.

Hartge wheels are so hard to find, and its the wheels which dictate the theme of a car so it has to be an Alpina.
The reason there are so many Alpina look cars is because the bits are easier to get and there are so many replica parts on ebay.

I am going to have to sell my boot badge to Theo as Ive got a lot of respect for what he is doing.
The rest of the bits will go on a friends car.
I would rather do a Hartge theme but it is so dificult.

OR even better take the Ronals off of my Eunos...

Not too sure about the Steering wheel cap..

You can just make out in the pics the classic Pioneer CD head unit- looks so cool in there and matces the orange lights!! (all new bulbs by the way)

As you can see I have already started on the Alpina theme.

Im also confused about the grille. I like the black on a black car,it looks aggresive but I also like the standard look- the classic bmw look.
What do you lot think?
Here are a couple of pics with chrome grille, orange indicators, and black front.
