Not sure what I'm going to do to it yet. Welded diff deffo! Thinking it's a keeper though so who knows. See how things pan out before I start saying shit.

Been looking at turbo manifolds etc so ;) Will see. Oh and Welded diff is a temp measure.

Pics are shite, I had a banging headache and I was uber tired.

Right well got up early yesterday and took my car into work to sort out a fuel leak.

Was just the filler neck so fibreglassed that up.

Then thought F**K it why not.

Welded my diff lol

Got it over one of the pits, then sprayed all the bolts with some DW40 to let it soak in whilst I jacked the car up.

Image
Image

First step was to unbolt the driveshafts and the propshaft. Drained the diff of it's oil. Then undid the 5 bolts securing the diff on.

Image

Then got the diff off and give it a good clean in the parts cleaner and then with the steamcleaner.

Image
Image
Image

Cracked the backplate off to reveal it's innards.

Image

Gave the inside a good steamclean. Then proceeded to weld the spider gears.

Image
Image

Welding looks dogshit but it penetrated well and I actually welded more than what I took on the pics.

Backplate on with some gasket seal.

Image

Diff back on, topped up with oil, driveshafts and propshaft on, wheels on. Jobs a good un!

Image

Took it down the road and give ti some sideways fun. AWESOME.

What's wrong with gasket seal? I can get it in the bucket load at work so why not lol.

And yeah it will chew through tyres, but I intend to drift it. So it will chew tyres anyway lol

Fine tbh.

You can just feel and hear the wheels fighting eachother when I'm cornering slowly or parking up.

Normal driving though it feels ok.

Saying that, I havn't driven it in the rain yet

Took my car into work again to weld my diff.

Found some decent grade steel to plate it.

Image

Then squeezed a pigeon to weld them in lol

Image

Image
Image

Couldn't seem to get the welder set up right tbh, but it's penetrated and I can't see this one going anywhere.

Fingers crossed anyway!

Then I found a peice of stainless tubing and was bored so thought fuck it, the backbox is going and it's side exit time y0!!1! wack

LMFAO!

Yea mate I'm usually smacked upto the eyeballs on ibuprofen they should do the trick.

On a serious note, it is far too loud. Get too much attention in it ;) ;)

So I'm after a stainless system or I may make my own with a universal backbox. Maybe a jap can? LOL

any suggestions?

Little update.

Managed to get hold of some new wheels, same as mine but 15" so got them on with 2 14"'s in the boot for drift rims.

Also fitted a laguna splitter as my IS one came off and I wa sbored so thought fuck it whilst it's off I shall cable tie my laguna one on as it's been clogging up my room for ages lol. Scrape scrape.

Also I have a smashed grill and number plate thanks to Sammos13 for reversing into me so it's all held together with cable ties.

Next I think will be suspension, brakes then hopefully engine work.

Got em on my street lol.

It's not too bad as it's quite flexible so it just scrapes. It's my fuel tank and sump I'm more concerned about when they scrape :x

hahaha cheers.

Well have just been down to Bristol for 2 weeks, car didn't give me a single problem.

One thing I did notice though, Bristol is like an E30 haven. Seriously, nearly every other car I saw down there was an E30, mainly in great condition driven by old fogies.
