Blinded by the paintwork ? , and i can see why.Cook318IS wrote:Just realised that the front door cards that came with the seats are different to the rear doorcardsHow the **** did i not notice before!?

they've been sat in the attic. I've got a set of mint iS doorcards in the attic too but i'd rather have a full set of black vinyl/leather door cards

Done some more jobs on it today.
Early m50 airbox is now fitted - i'll make a bracket up somepoint this week but for the sake of one day - its fitted!
Cleaned and conditioned all the leather bits in the car, and finally fitted the leather handbrake gaiter i got off Theo ages ago
Changed one of the rear bumper trims for one that isnt as badly scratched
I've managed to pinpoint an airleak to somewhere behind the inlet manifold (icv area) - so guess what's coming off tommorow afternoon
Washed and waxed it again today and i even hoovered it
And the rear wheel bearings were done by the local specialist yesterday

I haven't updated this in a while...
Car has 2x new bosch lambdas
New VDO cam sensor
New VDO crank sensor,
M50 Airbox,
M50 inlet manifold,
All 4 oem wheel bearings,
New spark plugs
2nd hand throttle position sensor off my old m50 engine
Long story short, its sat outside my house after a fuel leak 2 weeks ago and hasn't moved. Battery has now died from being sat for so long and trying to crank it over to see if the fuel pipes are the right way around. It now obviously won't start and i have a strong dislike of working in the cold at this time of year. I have also noticed that one of the rear wheels has more camber than the other side
All bushes are from bmw and about a year old
After a drift day today im tempted to get a skyline or a 200sx, i need boost

It's not just the way it is parked is it? Or have you seen it at other times.
I've noticed it when its in the driveway and outside my house. sometimes it feels like my light vibration is coming from the rear passangerside - the same as this side with the camberGwynleym10 wrote:It's not just the way it is parked is it? Or have you seen it at other times.

Maybe, might be worth checking actually. I know the handbrake shoe springs are worn and could do with replacing. Good thinking...

Yeah but i've noticed it outside the house too
Maybe i need to drive it somewhere else and see.

You really don't need a jap turbo to drift. If you can bring yourself to it, just strip the e30 out fit some coilovers and an uprated lsd and you will be fine.
Learning to drift in a lower powered car will teach you alot more that in a 400hp skyline.

I didn't say you did need a jap turbo to drift. I just said i want a turbo! This car is more than capable for drifting, but its not what its built for - its far too nice for that!

I agree, I have been contemplating a 180sx or R32 for years but always end up buying an e30.
The problem I see, is that due to the nature of the car its so hard to find nice ones that haven't been tiptied up and bonced off the limiter.

This is true. But then some r32's are reallly cheap and would be good for abit of a laugh and then scrapping. I fancy an s15 spec r too, its cheaper to insure than my e30 as an import and it has more power and a turbo!oldroydsr4 wrote:I agree, I have been contemplating a 180sx or R32 for years but always end up buying an e30.

i would advise against an s13 200sx you were to go that way. a mates one has had 4 engines in 2 years!! jap cars ain't all there cracked upto be.
but then i wouldn't want to get rid of your e30 its fooking lovely
turbo the m52 and you will have a right beast!!!
thats for about the same as getting jap turbo and tuning it

It would be an s14 or s15 if i was going 200sx tbh. A mate of mine has a s13 and hes had a few engine issues too come to think of it.
I could turbo this, but at the end of the day im only 22 - the thought of the insurance frightens me alot! Its cheaper as i said to insure a higher performance jap turbo car than it is to insure this as it is!

If only i had the cash to buy the lump and get decent insurance mate!

I changed the rear h&r springs today after reading another thread that they were causing abnormal camber on one side. So i now have iS springs on the rear again and it *looks* like the camber on both wheels is now the same again! So maybe my rear springs are abit too worn?

Woop woop! The vibration has gone
So it was my rear springs causing all my problems! I've taken it for a lovely little drive this morning, the manifold hasnt made as much as a difference as i thought it would but its still noticable! I've also come to the conclusion that my idle control valve has had it
